So am I missing something or an AE pilot really have to pay to commute? If so, does one have to pay only when jumpseating on AE/AA flights? Free if the commute is done with say, Southwest?

Thanks

Correct, pay if you fly on AA/AE to get to work, if you ride another carrier it is free. Once you hit 5yrs with the company you get free domestic coach travel (no paying to get to work).

Don't forget except for the "W". You don't pay for the jumpseat.

Yeah, if the flight is actually full and you actually sit in front, you don't have to pay. But if you get a seat in back you have to pay.

Has anybody heard when the next round of interviews are or are they done interviewing? Also, I've emailed Claudette Carroll and my account is on airline apps is there any other ways to prod my head in there? Thanks

Right now it looks like they are filling interview spots for the week of Feb. 15th. Interviewing Mon/Tue/Wed. I think they will interview a couple more weeks.

Any ballpark estimate for how long it would be before a new hire could get a DFW domicle? (by aircraft)

Thank you all for the info on the AE jumpseat. So a G7 guy can commute to work on AE for free while an AE guy will have to fork the cash...so not cool.

I would be commuting to lax...might be a deal breaker.

Impossible to say with any certainty, but there are 3 aircraft types in DFW (ATR, EMJ, CRJ) and the ATR is usually the most junior a/c. There might even be some newhire spots for DFW ATR. We are also getting some new CRJs, and they will split them between ORD and DFW, good chances of getting DFW CRJ as well. If you started with SJU ATR, you could transfer to DFW ATR and be flying in Dallas before you finish training (most optimistic) and maybe 6months-1yr later (less optimistic). The whole thing depends on what the company needs, so take it FWIW.
