American Eagle to hire
#531
I interviewed on the 18th... no call either yet. They told us that they hadn't had a CA's review board, and weren't sure if they were going to have one on the 22nd or if they would wait until the 29th... I suspect that is probably what the hold up is... but that is pure speculation on my part

[quote=Flyby1206;750967]No way to know for sure where the newhires will go, I would plan on the ATR SJU/MIA or maybe EMJ in LGA/JFK. Transferring bases is a pretty easy process, and you can request a base transfer after Day 2-3 of indoc. Keep in mind you are seatlocked on your equip for 18 months (I believe?) unless you get displaced. So if you get assigned SJU ATR and want to be ORD EMJ youll be waiting for close to 2yrs before getting into the jet.
So its possible if you get hired into the EMJ and sent to LGA/JFK you could put in for a swap to ORD and get based there after a short time?

Yep! You can put in a bid for a different base and if awarded you could be transferred in a few months. If your ultimate goal is to be based in ORD then try to get equip that is in ORD (EMJ/CRJ).

Is 18 still the prejected # for the 15th class?

I'm still hearing from guys that the feb 15th class is still a go. But a review board on the 29th seems like its cutting it a little close to the start date. But then again I got a call to interview on a Friday. Intviewed that following week.

The more flexible you are the sooner you will go to class. My last airline gig I got a call on a Monday: "Can you be here a week from today?" I accepted it, others that interviewed the same day as me didn't, and they ended up starting class 4 months after me.
As far as the 18 on the 15th that is what they told us a week ago... but things change, who knows?

I'm just wondering about the logbooks and the flight times grid they have fill out for interview. Just like on airlineapps.com they want you to put in student time separate from PIC time. However in my logbook, when I was a student, I also logged PIC (when I was rated in the aircraft). Just wondering if they'll be ok with my PIC time on the form I fill not equalling my PIC time in my logbook.
I didn't log all of my student time as PIC. Mainly when I was getting my MEI, I had to log 15 PIC in the make and model just to get the MEI in the first place. Plus a few other select flights here and there.

The only student time that you cannot log is the time before your solo and initial multi training.

Yes, you are allowed to swap on/off days within your own schedule OR swap with another reserve pilot. The swap within your own schedule is subject to staffing levels, and usually gets "denied due to staffing."
We can travel on AA/AE int'l flights on a D2 pass classification while paying a fee that is deducted from your paycheck. For example: D2 from JFK-CDG would run roughly 50-120 one way depending on what class your fly (coach, business, first). We also get access to Zed passes on other airlines, which are pretty standard. You can D2 travel pretty much as soon as you start class (maybe day 2-3, once they get you into the system).
