American Eagle to hire
#1531
Only talked to one of the others, and he got the letter too. Not sure about the other two...
Also, a tip for anyone going in for an interview, or filling out the application online... I have this feeling that previous work experience and/or periods of unemployment may be quite the hinderance... example: I had a bunch of random summer jobs that I took during college to make money during break, and I couldn't remember a lot of of the info from those places because they only lasted about a month, I rarely saw my boss, etc... but I ended up putting them on the application anyway because it specifically stated "COMPLETE 10 year work history." Well then HR called me for W2's the week of my review board to verify that I was actually employed at a few of these places (which I have and got to them promptly)... but one of the W2's from company ABC, actually said I was being paid by company XYZ because I was hired through some temp agency. Whatever, I tried to explain this to the guy on the phone. I really thought nothing of it at the time, but now looking back, that may have hurt me. Friend of mine who also recently interviewed was given a pretty hard time during his HR portion about a few months of unemployment and some similar odd jobs at places that are now out of business.
So bottom line - I'd recommend not putting any jobs on the application that you worked at while in school/college. I know I won't be putting those on future applications. Just use the ones to show a lineage of work with no breaks of unemployment (if possible). Otherwise, have a good reason.
That's my 2 cents. Anyone disagree?

American Eagle is a wholly owned subsidiary of AMR Corp which is also the parent company for American Airlines. American Connection is a brand created by AMR for 3rd party companies like Chatauqua (Trans States and Regions Air also used the Am Conn in the past).

That's interesting. So I guess the captain review board must hold the applicants to a higher standard than the sim evaluators?

The board or the cut at the interview?
Also a side note, they do contact everyone from your previous 10 years of work.

It's ironic you say that because that's exactly the opinion that many current AA pilots have about us at Eagle, and we exist BECAUSE of their scope clause and in fact SUPPORT their operation, instead of posing a direct threat like GoJet pilots have done to TSA. There's a stark contrast between the two. No, technically they're not scabs but for all intents and purposes they may as well be.
BTW, I agree about the stark contrast.

I'm not sure how many got the call today, but congrats to all. I interviewed in early March, and received the call this afternoon. I was told there are about 30 or so in the pool waiting on class dates, and it would probably be over a month before starting. There are still recalls going through training at this point.
