Your post said AE flowbacks....it's flowthrough's. Flowbacks would be folks coming from AA to AE. You got your "flows" backwards.

I was a poolie and a resent RE-hire in this latest round of interviews. I guess I'm just a little pessimistic....
Lots of talk going around that the 175 furloughs are to make room for nearly 200 AE Captains going to AA. Its likely a legal arbitration that is forcing AA to provide "room" for AE Captains. It is something that should have happened in 2007 but didnt. Unfortunate for the AA furloughs, but possibly should have been done properly years ago.

Actually IF (that's IF) the arbitrator rules AE flowthrough pilots should be placed in class in the near future, then it may be less then the 244 supposedly eligible. There are over 500 total flowthroughs, but many are at the bottom of the AA list and won't go until all AA furloughees.

The AA furlough situation may or may not have something to do with the Eagle flowthrough grievance. Timing, method and numbers are suspicious though.

Does anyone have a copy of Eagle's contract that I could look at? I was always curious to see it.

Yes, but you have to work for us first.

When AE furloughed last year nobody said "well, what the heck AA isn't furloughing so this isn't fair".

If AA does well it's apprently not b/c of AE.

If AA is suffering then AE must pay the price too.

We're only related when things are going wrong. And we're always the problem apparently.

Either way it is a bad situation but AMR has certainly pitted the two pilot groups and two unions all against each other.

It takes two (or in this case, three) to tango.
