My point is that alot of people have been surprised by the hiring at Eagle, myself included. Sure they're getting new planes but many people have said that Eagle is ramping up for the 274 flowbacks to AA. That apparently will not be happening. I was a poolie and a resent RE-hire in this latest round of interviews. I guess I'm just a little pessimistic....

Lots of talk going around that the 175 furloughs are to make room for nearly 200 AE Captains going to AA. Its likely a legal arbitration that is forcing AA to provide "room" for AE Captains. It is something that should have happened in 2007 but didnt. Unfortunate for the AA furloughs, but possibly should have been done properly years ago.
The AA furlough situation may or may not have something to do with the Eagle flowthrough grievance. Timing, method and numbers are suspicious though.

When AE furloughed last year nobody said "well, what the heck AA isn't furloughing so this isn't fair".
If AA does well it's apprently not b/c of AE.
If AA is suffering then AE must pay the price too.
We're only related when things are going wrong. And we're always the problem apparently.
Either way it is a bad situation but AMR has certainly pitted the two pilot groups and two unions all against each other.
