Except for the fact that a lot of the furloughed guys you speak of have much more experience than those CFI's you speak of. Many furloughed have been through the CFI game for a couple years, spent a couple years at the regionals only to be furloughed, and now are being passed over for people who were at the same stage they were 3-4 years ago? (after all these CFI's already have a job). It's wrong and Eagle ALPA should stand up and say something about it.
It's hard enough being furloughed and finding any job (aviation or non) right now. Interviewers hear the word "furloughed" and freak and think you will bail on the job at any time.
I don't really care if I ever interview with Eagle, I just would have liked to see some other furloughed guys, many of whom are much more experienced than I am, get the call. I'm sure Eagle will eventually get around to picking up some more furloughed guys but hearing all this is a real kick in the n**s.

So let me try again and try to only make generalized slander in my post:
Most of the furloughed regional guys are actually well below the 1000-1500 hour range right now.....At least the one's applying to Eagle. Almost all have not flown in a year or more.
All this is beside the point though...The CFIs interviewing have been flying day in day out for the last 2 years. They have survived the layoffs which reduced the instructor force by 60%, and had to work even harder to keep their jobs. These guys are proven hard workers with a drive to succeed. I take great offense to the notion that they come from a puppy mill and also that they do not deserve the opportunity.
I hope and wish everyone that wants one gets a job at Eagle actually.

Eagle just called me today, exactly one year after my furlough date! And I don't have a current flying job. Only flown once back in June.
Keep in mind though, I was an intern at Eagle, and I had quite a few AA and Eagle contacts send something in. Anyone else interviewing the 26th?

your post was at 7:30am, and you said they called you today, are they calling you before 7:30am? Interesting if they are.
