Trying to come up with a budget, I know it's pathetic...but need to figure it out.
After taxes and benies and everything else is taken out, what is take home pay for the Jet, and the ATR including per diem?

Per diem varies and so does your pay. My paycheck is 99.9% different from the FO directly below or above me. Take your first year pay and cut that in half and you'll get a ballpark take home pay.

ballpark: $800 on the 15th
$2100 on the 31st
after bennies, taxes, and such..... varies depending upon your line each month. Lately its been on the lower side.
Definately not first year pay though...

No, I don't bring quite that much home as a 6th year jet FO flying 85 hours (even including per diem). Of course I have lots of deductions: Family medical and dental, large FSA, 401k, and so on.
For first year I'd say just multiply the hourly rate by 75. Your per diem will probably cover the other expenses you incur: bennies, taxes and so on unless they're really high like mine.

I just looked and my first year, my check on the 15th was about $625 take home and my check at the end of the month was anywhere from $830 on the low end to $2,100 on the high end.
I am single and my have deductions for medical, dental, 401K, and ALPA-PAC.

Guess its a shortsighted benefit of being single and only contributing 5% to 401k.
But I will say that if you bid right, it does help alot with your pay. ie bidding for trips with carry-over into the next month, and selecting yes for transition, not pickin up OT but "saving fuel" in flight, and waiting by the runway for an EDCT "that might get pushed up". Stuff like that adds a couple hundred each month.

I talked to Corey Smith today. First ATR new hire class is on Feb. 15th, while first Jet class will be mid april. He confirmed we are looking for about 120+ new hires right now. Said we shouldn't expect another vac/dis bid for a while unless airline scheduling is radically changed i.e. reduced flying or increased flying out of a single base.
