No signifcant uptick in hiring is my guess. Only 35 Captains will be leaving for AA anytime soon. What they have planned regarding rest rules is pure speculation as the FAA can't seem to get off their asses yet again. So I'd say maybe 200-250 total thru summer 2011 for crjs + flowthrus.

Thats a hell of a thing to say prove to them you can be an eagle pilot. i hate to break it to ya pal but being a regional pilot isn't exactly being a blue angel.
interview:
1 ok you can read write and speak english
2 your alive?
3 welcome to eagle now enjoy the fact that you spent years of education and money getting to where you are and we are going to take advantage of you

dude. this is a forum, pardon me if everything is grammatically to your standards. and i was offered a job with eagle and turned it down because, and stay with me on this, IT WASN'T ENOUGH MONEY. I know that is a foreign concept many of you

i think hes trying to be sarcastic about the RJpilots ridiculous post. Just like Mesa, Eagle had mass exodus when the flood gates were open a few years ago. Really tells you what people there really think of their perspective there as a lifer RJ FO, as well as the current people that have no choice other than eagle.

Agreed. The money is adequate. Captains are fairly compensated pay wise, but the benefits and treatment still suck. First Officers are severely underpaid which is why we should make FO pay a priority. If they have to be pilots who spend a large portion of their career in the right seat, then they should be paid a level of pay which can sustain them for that long.
I'm around #600 on the seniority list with 20 years and another 11 to go. I rarely drink, don't smoke, eat healthy and exercise regularly. Enjoy your wait.
The good news is that a fair portion of our senior pilots don't take very good care of themselves and probably won't live to age 65 much less fly until that age.
