Can anyone give any pointers to prepare for the interview? What does the medical consist of? Can we do it local or is it somewhere that AE tells you? Thanks a lot.
All the online gouges hit the nail square on the head!! Medical is assigned by AE but I live in SoCal so LAX was an easy drive.

Good luck.

The medical is nothing more than 2 drug tests (dot and company) and a hearing test. Very easy unlike the old "astronaut" physical.

Default Paperwork Question

For those who recently interviewed with AE...

I'm in the process of completing my paperwork for my interview next week. I have a minor question on the Hours Grid Sheet...there's a block for "PIC Turb" and "SIC Turb". Do they mean turbo jet or turbo prop??

Thanks in advance...

American Eagle has new minimums:

If you have 800tt and 100 multi
-After receiving the conditional offer you will be placed into the class pool. (nothing new here)

If you have 500tt and 50multi
-After successfully completing the interview process but before being placed in the class pool you must:
1. Sign a 2 year contract
2. Satisfactorily complete ATP’s RJ standardization course (paid for by Eagle)

IIRC, thats a 7-8 grand program right? We have reached the days of 500 hour pilots being hired AND additional training for a job? Things keep up with this, eventually it will be 0/0 hiring. IE they pay for all training.

We might have to retire the APC chant of "The days of 500 hour hiring are long gone"

How many more guys does eagle need? Surely they would be flooded with applicants at 800tt all ready but if they are doing this maybe they need a lot more.

The RJ "orientation" course is $2495 per ATP's web site. $5K if it's the full "certification" week course. But if they're paying, not a big deal unless the contract is not pro rated.

Back in the 60s the majors hired people with PPLs. Who knows what the current boom could lead to.

I guess this also means ATP can stop running their "Buy an RJ Course and get an interview with Eagle!" ads.
