Sorry, I meant to say commuting from LAX. BTW, what would be an approximate time to get LAX as a base for a new hire? Forever?

Can anyone check and post the most recent vacancy bids...if called for a class this month I'm dying to know the possibility of holding an airplane in ORD (CRJ or EMJ)....i live there now and hear that it is the most junior base, is there a good possibility that it will be offered?!

Thanks...that's what I thought. I would love to accept the interview offer but not willing to commute from LAX to God knows where.

latest vac/dis bid, not including the shuffle that followed. but naturally you probably wont be able to hold the bases/eqpmt on the displacement side. Expect to see DFW, ORD, LGA, and SJU (maybe JFK) as base choices. LAX and MIA keep getting more and more senior. as far as eqpmt preferences go, thats extremely unpredictable as to what each training class will have to choose from. In my new hire class, the guy that had us pick our base and aircraft didnt even know what was offered til the first day of school (which was when we finalized all that) best things is to just be flexible and go in with no expectations.

Dont accept the offer(if they call you)let another applicant who is more than willing to commute have it. With your attitude, you will be miserable your entire career no matter which airline you work for

Hi,
I just finished my airlineapps.com application yesterday, 2/4. I have been employed as a CFI for well over the past 12 months, 1070/200 with no recommendations. Does anyone who is familiar with the current hiring process think that I stand a chance at getting a call for an interview?

I'm not trying to be a jerk here, but what is it with these "do you guys think I have a chance" questions? It is not just here on the AE Thread, but every hiring thread. If you meet or exceed the airline minimums requirements you are good to go. After that it all comes down to internal recommendations, who you know and a little luck of getting a call. Nobody knows what HR is really looking for, even though some people might claim they do. They don't. But since you've asked, you meet AE requirements, so yes you do have a chance.

Sorry, I'm not trying to reenact every other thread, I was simply asking if anyone has received a call for an interview that had around about the same qualifications that I do.

now that you have applied, all you can do is wait for a call like everyone else. Don't get discouraged if the call does not come immediately, there are others out there with experience that surpass yours and still have not received a call. hang in there. good luck.
