Tell me what's broke and maybe I can fix it) Internal Recc. Clean record both professionally and personally. Not a peep either. I would bet that airlineapps.com is working just fine.

That would be me. The gray-headed part. Maybe that is the problem.....
Hey Squawkoff, it doesn't sound like anythings "broke" here. But let me get my facts straight.....you interviewed and got a reject in 08 and have since updated your "airlineapp" and are waiting on a call to re-interview?

If this is the case I don't know that you were rejected. EVERYONE was rejected in May of 08'. I was one of the lucky ones who got the news before walking into my last sim session for my RJ course in Vero Beach, FL.
This was of course a day or two after oil hit $120 a barrel.

Also, did HR contact you to update your times back in January? I think like EGLF15 said, They are inundated with applications right now and it sounds like they would love to have you on board. Just gotta be patient.... Good luck!

Yes. The email in 08 said that they "are withdrawing their offer of employment because you failed to pass the final review" which I assumed was the captains board. I have updated airline apps regularly since Dec 09.

One of the guys that was interviewed with me (I'm pretty sure he was in my group but am not sure) did not receive a rejection letter (so he says) so I assumed that it was me. He never received a class date.

No I have not received anything from AE HR. Nary a peep.

Did they say reapply in six months? If so, that means you are okay with them, but didn't meet the qualification cut. The comment "withdrawing their offer" is ominous. You might want to do a background check on yourself to see if there is something in your history, specifically credit history, which might not belong there (i.e. identity theft). Just like the five year old who ended up on the TSA security watch list, you might have bad credit because someone stole a credit card application and misused it.

Again, they have 150 or so slots and over 500 apps!
Agreed about internal recommendations. They help, but they don't guarantee. The most common use of one works this way: A Recruiting employee receives a recommendation on an application. The employee goes through the pile of 500 applications, digs out the person named in the recommendation and guess where that file goes? Yep, right on top of the pile. Now, when the same person or another starts processing files for interview scheduling, where do you think they draw from? Yep, right off the top of the pile.

This is the reason why it's best to send in a recommendation a day or two after the interview and another a week later. It keeps the applicant's file near the top if the pile.

Said we wouldn't hear anything back for at least 30 days (probably up to 2 months). Said we wouldn't know our bases and equipment until we show up for class. On the conditional letters of employment, it had all the bases listed EXCEPT LGA - heard they might be moving most of those ops to JFK. Really didn't find out anything else.

As far as the potential hiring of 500 pilots: 100 because of increasing minimum rest period to 10 hours, 200+ going to AA, 22 new RJ's (roughly 200 there). Do the math. Fingers crossed it's true.

Maybe. That's always a consideration but like I said in one of the previous post I don't think anyone would make it through both days of interviews if personality is an issue. And if that's the case it would be nice to know. I won't waste mine and their time applying.

I don't think they said reapply in 6 months but I didn't read much past "we are withdrawing our offer..." I was in the last group to be interviewed before they started furloghing.
Credit was not an issue. If there is something in my background it didn't show up when I got my CHL (concealed handgun liscense) I have applied for a tax stamp from the ATF so if there is a criminal issue it will show up there (I have never been handcuffed or in the backseat of a police car in my 50 plus years of living much less arrested)

I interviewed on the 14 and 15th of May and received the letter on the morning of the 16th. If there was incriminating evidence on the 16th I would have thought it would have been available on the 15th. It would be nice to know the truth. I retired from my full time job on the 16th.

Not on the TSA watch list because I fly AA non-rev (Wife works for AA) quite often. Have never had a problem getting cleared to fly 135 or SIDA badge.

Airlineapps allows you to validate your app. with different companies. I did it with AE and it said everything is OK.

I just hope it was that they decided to stop all hiring and that was the way to let me know.
