I'm sure the involved party knows the difference and would not make it look worse than it really was by using the wrong term.

Folks have gotten interviewed and hired with past Letters of Warning. As others have written, honesty is always the best policy. Even if the FAA does not have the letter on file, it will survive for eternity in the employer's personnel file and get picked up during a PRIA request.

Another tip ... if a person has a letter that will get picked up in a PRIA request, it is fine to add a letter from the Pilot explaining the circumstances and correcting anything the employer got wrong. In some cases that helps mitigate an ugly letter and since it be sent in the same package as the PRIA response it looks official.

Anything that is done via ASAP is expunged after 2 years and is unavailable through PRIA requests.

Agreed. From the FAA website:

"When the FAA responds to Pilot Records Improvement Act (PRIA) requests, only final legal enforcement actions resulting in a finding of violation are released. Enforcement database information pertaining to No Actions, Administrative Actions, or Legal Actions in process or under appeal, are not released under PRIA. Administrative Action resulting from an accepted non‑sole‑source ASAP report is not released pursuant to a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request."

Yep, you have to start on the first page of the "Latest and Greatest Delta" thread and read it all. You might not get good test info but you'll achieve total Delta consciousness.;)

A great book that I loaned to a friend, and never got back, was "The Guide to the Bar Bar". It was called that, because the most prominent sign in that kind of bar was the sign that said "BAR".:D It rated places on a 10 point scale on items like "luminosity" because beer spoils in natural or unnatural light, "crapola on the walls" etc.

It was written by a traveling salesman, but it probably needs to be updated for the new century by some hard working airline pilots.

WHO'S WITH ME LADS!!

I'd love to know what criteria they use to determine who to invite...sounds like your app isn't lacking. Good luck!

YES! Everyone remember to check your spam/junk email. They often end up in those folders. Very important to remember this.

update it as often as possible, at least every trip.

In airlineapps, under "Flight Time - By Aircraft", when they ask if you are typed in an aircraft are they referring to a PIC type? It doesnt really specify. I am SIC typed in the CL-65 and just not sure how to check the box.

Thanks!

Chris

I am going to catch flack for this one but I think you should check the box. You are typed with a limitation on it. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. I do not want this thread to get hijacked into SIC type discussions, but it is what it is. Your ticket says under type ratings....CL-65, it then says limitations....CL-65 SIC privleges only. It is not lying, it is not manipulation. If they don't like people doing that, then they need to add a section where you specify PIC or SIC.

acl65pilot 07-02-2010 04:10 AM

Also remember that the CRJ is considered a Large aircraft type so check yes.

JOHNSCHR 07-02-2010 05:48 AM

Thanks guys!

Sorry, I didn't mean to bring this thread off track.

Cheers,
Chris

Or even better, proactively add their email address to your "safe" list ahead of time....like now.

You didn't. What I meant when I said I didn't want it to get hijacked is that if you look at older threads, the discussion of SIC types generally cause a stir with their being heated battles on both sides as to its validity. I was just letting people know I was not interested in getting into that areguement in this thread. Good luck to you!

Any Legacy people being called with lower than competitive time?

Technically yes it is a large aircraft, but wouldn't that type already be covered by checking the "Turbojet Airplane" box in the same section?

JOHNSCHR 07-02-2010 01:14 PM

Has anyone who is trying to get hired outside the flow at Mesaba or Compass been called yet?

Haven't heard anything. I'm a legacy but don't have 1500 Turbine PIC, I was hoping having a heavy aircraft military background would help get a call below the competitive mins.

Fwiw I don't know what "competitive" is but It's not necessarily high time. I have a buddy that has been hired with less than a 1000 tpic. So don't think that if you're not high time you won't be called because that's not always the case. Good luck

A friend of mine who is heavy military, he was one of the first called. His PIC is just over 2000 I think. His total is around 4000.

Keep flying. You'll be there soon. Get several internal recs.

Thanks for the feedback folks. I guess beyond listing the legacy connection on the airlineapps, there is not much more to be done other than wait. I also have a check airman rec, and a 30-year 757 Capt internal rec.

Ad Lib 07-03-2010 05:56 AM

LIOG,

Don't feel bad. Some of the WIA ladies getting called were part of a scholarship program and received 737 Type Ratings courtesy of Delta already. That program was an amazingly good deal for those involved and it allowed them to make the right contacts.

Still with all the stagnation in the industry, even they are getting hired a couple years later than I thought they would.

So far, I have not heard of many of our internal recommendations are getting called. My guess is that the usual crowd of VERY well placed people are getting in the first few classes. Seems to happen every where. The more traditionally qualified folks are the next to get called. It will happen and surprise you with how quickly.

They are calling regular Joe's too. It just takes time. There are only so many slots and they are not going to interview all of the applicants and stick them in the pool in two weeks. The first class has not even been selected yet.

jahstah 07-03-2010 10:21 AM

for you NWA poolies, there looks to be a few new questions to the Delta addendum regarding if you were interview/hired by NWA on airline apps. I hope this does hurt those of us who were interviewed and not offered a job by NWA.

gasnhaul 07-03-2010 10:40 AM

Sorry, must have missed it...what are you referring to on airline apps where it says anything about having interviewed with NWA???

jahstah 07-03-2010 10:51 AM

its on the Delta addendum page just below the questions regarding past application/interviews with Delta. Its one of the first questions just below LORs.

DedRecon 07-05-2010 11:52 AM

I also recieved an email to check the yellow fever requirement on the addendum.
