Dude,

NW is Delta. You are in fact a legacy. Remember the CAPTs doing the interviews will be both flavors, North and South.

DAL Medical

What do the Docs look for in the DAL medical? If I have a condition which the FAA already has record of, but which does not limit my ability to hold a First Class with no restriction, could it still be a problem? Or are they looking for the possibility that you have been hiding (or don't know) about a condition?

Thanks

Heard in the lounge yesterday that they are planning on all returnees back in August, total of 300 by end of the year.

Also, planning on 60 a month indefinitely.

Anyone heard that last part about the 60/mo ?

Just passin a rumor.. that's it.

Didn't hear the 60/month but did hear today that if things continue as expected we will be looking at being in the same situation next year that we are in this year. Meaning another 300 or so mid to late next year for summer 2012 flying. Either way more bodies here is a good thing!!

That's a bit eerie. I wrote one of those. Wonder if/how much the tests have changed.

In my experience no, but you'll be surprised what they find issues with if, if, it is done the same way before. Nothing more than go get a doctors letter to prove thats not a problem. I had that, I had to prove I don't have a fever all of the time, I tried to tell them it was a Delta fever, :D but it required going to a doctor and getting proof. Now, if you have a first class medical I, in my limited experience, would say you're fine.

And I felt like it delayed me for two weeks and I'd miss an earlier class but in truth I was in class with everyone I was hired with.

Also, to all the hopefuls out there. Most know this but it's "Delta Air Lines" 3 words, not Delta Airlines. Don't be the next in a long string of folks to goof that one up.

Just another friendly reminder to go over the entire app with a fine tooth comb. Details such as these will make a difference.

I head Chautauqua made you spell Chautauqua in the interview. How embarassing if you messed that up.

Does anyone know how DAL is going to handle those who passed the panel interview but did not pass one of the computerized test in 08? I was advised by the 08 hiring staff that they bring you right back in after six month (if still hiring) for a preferential interview and to retake the tests. Any thoughts?

Question for those applying, has anyone who was in this situation got an interview invitation yet?

HA! Awesome. Thanks for getting me hired.

Regarding the Yellow Fever issue, where on the 22 section DAL addendum does it address this? Or is it in another section?

Thanks

The medical is a standard medical. Hippa laws only allow DAL to get a "yes," or a "no."

They have you do a hearing test, a few eye tests, some fasting blood sugar test, cough left and right, ekg, etc. Like I said, it is a normal initial work or annual physical.

If you have a medical waver for something, or it has been cleared with OKC, bring the paperwork and save yourself the time with doing it later.
