Invites will continue to go out. They do it in waves. They assume a 50% failure rate on day one. At least that is what Capt Swift stated.

Is Captain Swift running the program again this time?

Nope he is not.

There is no official TPIC minimum.

In the last hiring wave..I was an FO. Zero 121 PIC. Got the job!!:D

As for the pilots that had their interviews canceled. None of them have told me they have gotten an invite and some have called and got a non answer and told to keep their apps updated.

acl...thanks for the info! (as if you haven't heard that before!)

Yes there was..I will shorten the story to help all of you out.

I was an FO at ASA. No PIC time. Had all my app in by mid january 07 and started checking my email 10 times a day(I feel all your pain.)

By mid March I was really getting impatient. I went to the AIR INC. conference in LA, shook some hands and gave out my resume. Got the invitation to interview one week later.:D

Interviewed in April 07 and F'ed up the cog test. They said, seeeya in 6 months. By the next week I was in upgrade school.

Re-interviewed October 07 and passed all of it. I was told by the Doc that my EKG was weird. Had a cardiologist take a look and he said you have the same EKG as anyone who is 6'4. One week later got the OK to Train email. That was the end of October and I started class January 08:D

FWIW...I had a friend that was a legacy and had not gotten the email to interview. My other friends who were legacies had already been hired. He went to a Women in Aviation conference, shook hands and got the interview.

I do not know anyone at Delta, yet I am continuing to update my resume via airline apps in the hope of some good luck.

My qualifications include

4250 TT
3900 Jet
1,050 Turbine PIC
5 type ratings
Former part 121, current part 135 PIC
BA degree

Does a guy like me stand a chance? Thank you.

Taylor,
I would imagine you're just a bit below competitive mins right now. Still, Delta tends to look at the "total package" and not just the flight times. (Though they may have a minimum threshold to get over to be considered for an invite.) You might have something else on your resume that makes you stand out as a good potential candidate. The only way to know is to keep updating and hope for the best.

DO keep updating, though. I have heard from several people that attended job fairs and heard Delta recruiters giving tips last time around that updating on a fairly regular basis DOES help flag you in the computer system. I shows that the info they have on you is recent, and that you are interested in working for Delta, and didn't just fill out an app 'cause you needed a job and they happened to be hirring. Updating once a month or two, or once every 100 flights hours is a good benchmark. Even if you're not flying much, its still a good idea to go in every few months and change something minor - just show your app shows a recent update.

And with the magazine, I think you need to pick up both, then offer the choice to the guy next to you. (This shows you know your role as an FO is to let the Captain have first choice!) Just make sure you kindly ask him if you can have the cheerleader magazine when he's finished.

And it can be spelled HOGS or HAWGS! Oh, I'm sorry - did you say dogs?

Yep, if it is the same guys I am thinking about, I told him to drive to MCO, and he did. Got himself the job.
