Trust me there is no catch. I wouldn't be surprised if Pinnacle got 1000 applications for 10 openings.

Not that I think it's a bad thing but why is Pinnacle helping out the Mesaba guys? There are plenty of other airlines out there with tons of guys on furlough. I'm having trouble following the industry BS these days so I can't remember if there's a reason Pinnacle would owe this to the Mesaba guys so can somebody clue me in here? Thanks.

because pinnacle bought mesaba

Maybe if they meet the minimums:
1500TT, 500ME, 4year degree, eligibilty to obtain an ATP.

Who knows? Teamsters hate ALPA and vice versa? It does make it easier having the same union represent all three pilot groups. At list it's an ice breaker for a civil dialogue, and WHEN SLI time comes, there are guidelines in place rather than a free for all where people argue over federal laws and scope clauses, although I'm sure that will happen here, too.

Having XJ and 9E as ALPA made it to where the XJ guys were able to have "portable longevity," too. They'll port their longevity from XJ over to 9E (not seniority), so they're at least not starting totally from square one. Offering jobs to the XJ furloughees first was, IMO, the right thing to do considering we're all in this mess together.

What's the likelihood of holding MEM as a new-hire right now? Only reason I ask is since I live here and I couldn't imagine commuting to this job....

My guess is not very likely, especially with a JFK base opening. Maybe I'm wrong, but to my knowledge MEM is a senior Pinnacle base.
