I was hoping that since Pinnacle was picking up Mesaba furloughs, they might also re-examine poolies.

Has anyone in a similar situation received a call or email, "Dear John" or otherwise?

Thanks in advance; a buddy of mine is a senior FO at Mesaba and indicated be thought there were good things to come for the three companies since the mergers/acquisitions...I took his advice and applied, but haven't heard any news since (It's been nine days).

I was hired in 2008 but they stopped hiring before I made it to ground school (it was a matter of about two weeks). At the time, I met the minimums, but now I'm a bit short of the new 1000/200. I re-applied when the openings were posted and never heard back. Then I saw they were having a flight attendant open house near me in NY so I went there just to speak to someone and see what the deal was. I was told to re-apply when I met the minimums, even though I had been hired before. I guess what I'm saying is don't hold your breath on hearing back. I literally had to attend an open house for flight attendants and sit through about four hours of it before they heard back from the pilot recruiter. Either way, best of luck to you.

Pinnacle drained their own pool, so I doubt they'll honor any XJ poolies. In fact, I'm not sure if they'll even take on the guys that were in the pool who are working as crew schedulers unless they re-apply and meet the new minimums.

any idea how much hiring is going on at pinnacle? anyone have an interview scheduled?

junior bases?
where is training and how long?
paid during training?

im sitting at 1515 TT and 170 ME... shouldnt take but a couple more weeks to hit the 200 requirement. I'm not that anxious to leave my 135 freight company. I'm just trying to find out more info. Havent heard too much about Pinnacle as a company.. just the new stuff on who they bought and the things listed on APC.

Kinda hard to gauge right now. So many FO openings, the guys in class now are pretty much getting nearly what they want. We've had guys go to four of the five bases, and maybe even a couple managed to get ATL, I'm not sure. Traditionally, DTW had been junior, but I'd guess that JFK is likely gonna wind up being the junior base when the dust settles.

Memphis, and it depends on how on the ball training scheduling is. Ground is two weeks, then about a week of FTDs and 10 sims with an oral and checkride tossed in. It was 2 months and 1 week for me back in 06.

Unless things have changed, you get a dual occupancy hotel room and a fixed amount every two weeks. I don't know what the amount is off the top of my head.

We were paid $200 a week for the entire time we were in training. (2006-07)

I have spoken with 2 crewmembers that are on the hiring committee these last few days. They said they are hiring full steam until further notice, they said they wouldnt be surprised if it kept going like this till the end of the year. Only fifty-something mesaba furloughs agreed to come to 9E, so they are bringing "everybody they can get" from the streets that meet the minimum requirements...

I know in the middle of the week they were conducting interviews at the CEC on off the street guys...

And for whatever is worth, back in 2008 they payed us $400 a week during training...

I know that the Mesaba guys that just went through were getting paid guarantee. Don't know if that will be the case for anyone hire off the street though.
