Do pilots who are in the Louisville international base fly only nonstops towards Europe and Asia? Or is there some domestic flying too?

The only domestic flying they will do is something like: SDF-PHL-? or SDF-ANC-?. But, they also fly to Canada and Mexico which could be considered domestic. Things like: SDF-DFW-SDF are done by the domestic folks.

Does a UPS 767 fly the same routes as the Md-11, i.e. SDF to Cologne, SDF to Anchorage and beyond?

Is the Md-11 senior to the 767 international domicile?

thx.

Hey Freight Dog,
Do you know if the Aug 18th class has been filled yet? I'm in the pool and wondering how much lead time there is before a class is assigned. Also, any idea of the frequency of classes?
Thanks for any info.

UPS can put domestic flying within the International domicile. As time goes on UPS can also use INT reserves to cover domestic flying when they run out of domestic reserves. Just got done with a trip like that.

While I don’t know this for a fact, I seriously doubt the August 18th class is filled. Calls typically go out right up the 2-week point, and sometimes even less notice is given (but they strive for a minimum of 2 weeks).

UPS does not differentiate pay by a/c type. The 727 has some of the most senior captains on the property. I’m assuming you’re asking about the FO seat? There are guys at the bottom of the Z (International) list and the MD11 list with similar hire dates. There are also new hires going into both fleets. You don’t typically see the huge variations in seniority vs. fleet here that you do at most other airlines. 747 and MD11 CA were the most junior CA slots awarded in the last system bid.

Question FO vs. SO

I see that people are being hired for both FO and SO. Do you know what the average qualifications are for each?

Both the same.

Average new hire has about 2500-4000 from the Military or 6000+ civilian

If you are flying a 757/767 in the Louisville domistic base, what proportion of the flying is 767 over the 757? I think it's great a newhire can fly this bird right off the bat.
