I have heard that ORD is bad to commute out of because they shut down for anything, and that MSP is a good place to commute from. Can anyone confirm that information. Also, does anyone know about Milaukee as a commuter home? I'm trying to get the hang of looking at # of flights and direct flights and such, but I'm still not 100% on what to look at. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

ORD and IAD are certainly not the most junior of bases. EWR and MCI are most junior. Then in no particular order it's ORD, IAD, CLE, IAH. DEN is a distant last place. I cannot speak for MKE and commuting outside of the fact it'd be good if you're ORD based since you could just drive that.

After the xjt contract gets voted down...... You will not have to think about commuting as the company will shrink fast.

Doesn't really matter where you want to go. My class had to re submit our domicile bid three times, because they lost our bids two times before that. Most of my class is going to IAH, three or four guys got ORD, and one or two got EWR.

That's refreshing. I am currently looking for some 121 work and getting out of corporate for a while. Considering ExpressJet for the IAH base. I've got interviews lined up here and Eagle, so we'll see!

How is seniority determined in class? Is hiring mostly split between the two certificates lately or are most new hires going to one?

The demand is for the ERJ side, but there is need on the CRJ side as well. I would say probably 60/40 to 70/30 range if I had to guess. Different each time and changes month to month with folks leaving, but the ERJ side is paying lots of 150-200% and that isn't really being seen on the CRJ side of the house.

United announces reduced CLE flying

February 1, 2014

"...the press became aware of United’s plans to substantially reduce flying in Cleveland before United was able to discuss these plans with ExpressJet or to fully inform its own employees."

"... this is never the way I, or our partners at United, want our team members to find out about such news."

"...United has made the difficult decision to start reducing Cleveland flying in stages beginning in April. The majority of these reductions are regional flights, many of which are operated by ExpressJet. These reductions will be made in roughly one-third increments in each of early April, May and June."

"...decision is not reflective of the dedication and hard work of our Cleveland team. This is a business decision that United made, and it’s the result of several factors, including more than a decade of financial losses at the hub, and most recently, the industry-wide effect that new federal regulations have caused on the pool of available pilots."

If your on the bottom of ExpressJet's list and want the opportunity at quicker upgrades, consider PSA........30 CRJ 900's start being delivered in June!

PSAAirlines.com and fill out an app. Preference to any current 121 pilot.
