In all fairness, w/ Skywest he was likely looking at waiting in a pool. Mesa gave him a class date in less than a month. Or mabye he lives in PHX?

Not what I would have picked, but hey, one more spot at Skywest for the rest of us!

Default 1 st post.

nothing guaranteed in aviation.

applied at eagle, told me no for 60 days.

applied at mesa last week. no answer. I have not flown for a few years, maybe they will not call me. .
how is phoenix,? will I be based there. I don't really care where I go as long it s a cheap place.

I got email from Republic asking me to call, but when I try to call, they don't answer.

how hard is the rating on their regional jets. I am rated on the airbus in Europe and my training was hard. 4 hours of study every day and simulator in the middle of the night. I hated it at the end.

A trained ape could fly the 170. Rah will hire you as long as you dont break anything during the interview. Best of luck wherever you go.

Here is the breakdown that I see about Mesa: only a 12 month contract for the type rating instead of 2 years, possible 2 year captain upgrades, flying a 900 not a prop, an airline with lots of growth, recent remarkable growth! Lots of large classes already scheduled behind me providing me with seniority (class of 60 slated for october) I just don't see a problem?
Don't lie bro, you never had a SkyWest interview.

I heard they were only able to get about 5 pilots in their last class. It will be hard to make 600 pilots with ATP minimums in the next year at that rate. I believe I would love the job, but can't afford to work for them.

Fozjared, based in PHX if u live there already is the only reason to go to Mesa. But are there vacancies? Fast upgrade is unpredictable and wanting to fly -900s is just shinny jet syndrome affecting yr brain...best of luck tho!

Anyways back to Eagle, why on earth are they being so picky if they need pilots badly?

I think one big thing is that the flow of pilots to AA has come to a standstill as AA furloughs have undeferred, in order to get their claim of the equity stake at the last possible minute.
