Hi everyone,

I was recently offered a First Officer position at Republic Airways on the E170. Just had a few questions:

1) How is indic/training? Is there a lot of studying that weekends are full of work or is it there enough studying to get it done during the week and just hang out and casually review information over the weekend?

2) As far as limitation are concerned, which limitations should be memorized for the check? I have talked to a few friends on the S5 certificate who said they just have to know bold limitations in their SOP, but wasn't sure what Republic's expectations were.

3) Finally, does anyone find the QC-15 helpful while commuting, sitting reserve, or whatnot?

Thanks!

Use search, all these questions have been answered before. You'll hate yourself in no time at all working for that horrible place.

But he'll be flying a 175 and he can tell all the girls at the bar he flies for mainline. The only downer is that he'll have to drink water because he can't afford a beer...

He won't be at the bar because he'll be so exhausted from continuous reassignments that max out the FARs on duty and block. He should just be lucky hes going to republic and not S5, I hear the new CP at S5 is a real treat.

You'll be studying at any airline you go to, so don't make a decision based upon that.

Every airline you will have to know the "memory items". Some airlines don't even have those anymore.

I have had the QC15 since day one and I love them. Wouldn't suggest anything else.

This guy will be on our union board in no time complaining about how much reserve sucks at this place and how he can't believe the company is screwing him. But hey...the engines are under the wings. Good luck man.
BTW....SEARCH FUNCTION...type this in to your browser and it will answer all your questions....

Don't listen to these guys. Republic is one of the best run regionals out there. Bedford is a genius when it comes to running an airline. Lots of growth, everyone I know there absolutely loves it. Congrats on passing thier extremely selective screening process! I only wish they would call me! Patiently waiting by the phone...
