If nothing changes, we at least have a paycheck till then and you will just have to wait and see whether we get ahead of this situation or not. I would get a backup job lined up now JIC, but I wouldn't jump till it gets closer to end of the road at least.

I mean, come Oct 1... the existing money is gone no matter what and all the rules to get it expire too.

I've heard that Horizon is running two very small E175 (FO) classes in December, with a couple more small classes possible in January or February (jet and Q400 FO's). By "small", I've heard four people per class. I suspect most of the new pilots will be those who got a previous job offer (but not a class) or came up through some kind of pilot development program. I think most of the hiring is to cover attrition or to cover pilots on long-term leave.
One of our chief pilots mentioned that they've received several thousand applications for the most recent classes. It's not exactly a hiring wave, but I'm excited that someone got some good news this year.

12 total split between two classes in November, all on the E175. Mix between ex-Compass and those that previously held those cancelled class dates in the spring. Sounds like Jan/Feb will have some new FOs coming in on both the Q and the jet. Good news indeed.
No newhire bonus anymore, but that's probably expected. Still paying for ATP-CTP.

There was a 6 day window that opened end of October, that resulted in 1000's of applications.

Good news indeed! Are they doing interviews yet? Any idea what they are looking for in candidates (low time with CFI, previous 121)? Seems like some applicants have already got the TBNT, despite having things like 121 captain.
