It was a "nut plate inspection", whatever that is....

Yeah, I just read that too. I'm glad we (pilots) are last to know yet again. I don't buy the rumors that the company is gonna park the RJ's if oil hits $xxx. It's all just a doom and gloom scare tactic. Think how much it will cost them to re-train all the 200 and RJ fo's?

The RJ's aren't going anywhere anytime soon, Alaska needs them unless they find a 3rd party to do the Portland flying.

Yeah, RAH has a few airplanes that need a home. AAG could bring them in to takeover the PDX jet routes, and the RJ's would be gone in no time. Kinda crazy, but it could happen.

If AAG brings in RAH or any other 3rd party they will likely discover that low morale causes the Q400s to loose their jet like speed and become less reliable than ever before; especially at outstations.

I'll believe the 3rd party thing when I see it, at the gate. Management wants a 100 seat jet for PDX flying, not RAH's 170s. Unless they can adjust the seat pitch for another 30 seats. I have no idea who they're soliciting, as no domestic regional is flying the E190.
I'm looking forward to seeing how low morale can go here. It's been a great year: jets gone in 18-24mo, Q200s gone by October, furlough a certainty.

PS. Can we PLEASE take the "Regional Airline Of The Year 2007" stickers off now?????

Don't think the company won't just claim some sort of emergency and furlough out of seniority without union approval and say,"Grieve it!".

I really doubt they will do that. I still think that they are trying to scare us by saying all this stuff, and I really doubt they have a good idea themselves of what they are going to do. I am almost willing to bet that they are just buying time by feeding rumors untill they get a real plan going.
