I think it's called "sarcasm."

Just looking at this afternoon JB and DL have each cancelled two BUF to JFK flights.

Actually Endevor cancelled two , Delta none and JB two.

Part of our problem *part* is that we take the cancellation hits disproportionally because we operate our own regional flights out of heavily delay prone areas.

I'm not saying there aren't operational issues , but all things being equal operationally we still will show more delays and cancellations for the aforementioned reason.

Yeah I agree. It's a loophole they shouldn't be allowed to get away with. If they're operating a DL or UA or AA flight number it should count against them.

I could have have sworn that rule is changing soon, maybe early next year. My brain could be making this up though...

Pretty sure it's next year sometime. I remember reading that a little bit ago

I've haven't seen NY area ATC delays like this Summer since Summer 2001. We all know what happened early that Fall which made all of us quickly forget the ATC issues in short order. This Summer has brought back similar levels of flying (and I believe the same or more passenger emplainment numbers) to the three NYC airports. NY is the last holdout to a "Metroplex" project in which the airspace will be re-designed using OPD STARS and SIDS that allow for fewer level offs and uneconomical flying at low altitudes due to multiple sectors with conflicting politics etc. I don't have the answers but it seems rediculous to have 2 hour taxi times at EWR with the weather we had yesterday (minor cells South and West). The poor woman working "gate hold" sounded completely over taxed and often went silent. It was so clear to the East and North it was almost humorous to listen to the exchange with a Porter Dash 8 flight asking if they had an approved airway only to be issued an hour plus hold. It was a disaster. I've heard "staffing issues" which opens up a whole new can of worms.

Seems like ATC is taking notice of Jblue management position that ATC is the root of all evils. Got a messed up clearance today. Potomac apprch asked "Why did u come from there?" Yup. I've heard others grumbling about getting passed up in JFK while OAL (DL) jets go through the takeoff turnstiles.
