That is also taken way way out of context because we have 1+x= who knows. To could be 1 it could be 1001 we don’t know the end “value” of that cba until we have the language.

Maybe insurance is the same maybe it’s better.

It's really not bud. There is no new secret way of calculating rigs like rig+rig+rig.

Mark my words, tell I'm wrong after we see the language, but for everyday ops it's going to be pay rate x the greater of (block or TRIG or DRIG or 5*cal-day).

It's going to be pay rate times everything we know to be true right now, except we will 5 per calendar day now. That's for normal ops.

IROP may be different, but honestly I get IROP pay about 3 times per year. Great when it happens but a SWA paycheck it does not make.

Doesn't matter what people believe in regards to whom I fly for. My objective is to introduce better standards to this pilot group. There are already too many bozos at BJ.

Yes I am sure there are things that you could calculate in right now but there are still many unknowns is all I am saying.

If we were a dollar or two away on pay I would agree. The same goes for insurance.

Agreeing to allow jetblue the ability to maintain a $2600 deductible year after year is a firm NO vote for me. We work for absolute scum so this 4 year CBA will turn into the next 7 years. For me, it’s worrh waiting another 6 months or longer to ensure we aren’t locking in industry worst for 7 years.
And I see your point too Ben. Believe me, if I thought that the NC didnt have a handle on what is possible by voting NO and waiting, Id want to let it ride too, however, at some point, you either trust or distrust the NC and MEC.
They've been there for years, all of us have NOT. Who has the better perspective? Not me, and certainly not non-pilots (Q), posting here.

You *assume* they have a better perspective and you assume they are doing the best thing for us. They canceled the informational picket under VOLUNTARY action. Remember the RLA does not require us to appease BJ, a mediator, or an arbitrator. They did what they did VOLUNTARILY as the law states the entire RLA process provides only the option for VOLUNTARY resolution. They did it because it's what ALPA recommended/told them they do. It's not the only way, just a path they have generally traveled before. So don't confuse most effective with a well traveled road.

My thought process is this. At some point the NC says we want X and the company say we want Y. There is enough in the existing AIP that it would be illogical for the either the union or the company to keep going back and forth. The rest is where we are now and the pilot group has to decide. In every negotiation I have been a part of most often then not this first TA has gone back and more has been achieved.

Better results can be achieved by going to strike. Every decision step of the RLA process is completely voluntary such as accomodating the personal desires of a mediator and arbitrator. The best thing to do is say Hell No to get through the RLA process so you can get released to strike. Even if you don't get released, you can still fight and strengthen your forces to a point where the company will sweeten the deal. If the company knows your pilot group is commited to full scale war, commited to strike, that alone will force them into a specific playbook. Making friends is a strategy of defeat.

Speaking of which, make sure that B6ALPA NEVER agrees to binding arbitration. If they do, they will have sold you out. Agreeing to binding arbitration too is a voluntary action.

Read the short version of the RLA... compare people's impressions and actions vs. the actual law... open your minds beyond what other people in power have thought for you...

Go read the ALPA Constitution and By-laws and see what it has to say about membership ratification of contracts, LOAs, and MOUs. Then take a moment to learn some of our recent history regarding the membership vote for the 8% "raise".

Either of those would tell you arbitration is not on the table.

Alaska got shafted with arbitration as it was part of their negotiated JCBA process. We're not in that situation.

I have read them. Those documents are not written in stone. Plus, certain people have certain god-powers in ALPA to do override their policies. I don't see this as a problem but it could be, theoretically. I'm more worried about a 12-0 AIP sent to the most defeated pilot group on the planet... they are begging for table scraps.
