Jmo they probably will. Because it’s still cheaper to pay 200% than buy one body.

LoL

Jblue May hire 1,000 next year!!! But zero upgrades and that’s where we get kicked in groin. The staffing model is abysmal and honestly I think they’re coasting the company across the FIRE SALE sign for all to see. Make an offer.

In the past I shared your opinion but recently I had an epiphany. The dysfunction and ineptitude of management as it pertains to the operation is acceptable because jetblue is not an airline. In reality jetblue represents a millennial incubator of ideas(read values), side projects(read concessions, jetsuite) and tech ventures. The aircraft are marketing tools which support the above. There isn’t another carrier who’s board of directors wouldn't terminate the entire management team for the poor performance jetblue champions. The bold acceptance of mediocracy(again referring to gigitys letter) supports the idea that flying airplanes is secondary to everything else.
The 3 highest ranking individuals at jetblue never had operational experience prior to jetblue. 2 of the 3 never had airline experience prior to jetblue. None of the 3 have made appreciable difference in the operation since their tenures started. The value of experience and reference go along way when running an airline.
Truthfully jetblue has lead the way and left a lasting impression in many, many areas which changed the way airlines do business. Consequently the airlines arrogance and ignorance towards operations leads the way as well.

There is a curve at some point where the cost of hiring a new body intersects with the cost of VDA and RSA. I would love to know where that curve is. Remember that the cost of an employee is more than just their salary. They can pay nearly 2 times a pilot's income in VDA or RSA pay and still come out ahead. Social security and benefits are significant costs.

So yeah, I'm betting the number is not too far off from 200%. It's probably somewhere around 180%.

Na you wouldnt. It always comes back to PTOSB with those who use it.
I have zero problem with your argument btw. But lets be honest.

I wish we had kept 1 big pot used for vacation and sick....just make the monthly allotment the right amount then people can use it for what they want.......want more vacation, use it....want a bigger bank to SICKA, use it...want to sell some back....use it....

The new proposed system handcuffs us and diminishes the amount of weekly vacations and overall sick bank for flexibility...

Such crap.
