Setting the tone of halting the race-to-the-bottom is even more important strategically than a minor tactical-level win of TA 1.0. Accepting TA 1.0 means that we sabotage future contract efforts by setting precedent and concretely proving that BJ brainwashing is effective since it make so many disciple blue juicers. Just look at all the things they've gotten away with and pilots did nothing about it: blue glove cleaning, loss of profit sharing, Dependability Policy...

F&H wants this to pass quickly (they weaponized timelines by stretching them out) with substandard language because that's what they are really hired for. They are damage control... they limit the effect of having a union. Contrary to their common moniker as a "union buster", they have learned to embrace the union and not to bust it. They have instead learned to "contain" it. TA 1.0 is containment and denial of substantial wins.

I wanted pto sellback gone and hated "saving" for vaca. I now get 2 weeks and can use my ptos to bang in as much as possible.
I will get UTS.
Seriously, I know its a pill to swallow for the sell back guys. You are in the minority, on that point though.
Again, this was all about scope/sched and retirement.
Ive spoken to the reps, read most of the TA (that I could understand),
viewed the videos, and Im comfortable with this TA.
I understand that it is not what everyone expected or wanted; Not sure if that exists.
Good luck to all.

Is there anything you won't compromise on to get this passed?

Where did BJ compromise?

Agree with you that a NO vote will garner more $, but PTO sellback is gone forever and the NC said that health care/profit sharing and COLA were no-go areas for the company.
We need scope/retirement and section 25 more than cash. To each his own, but looking at the pay rates without the more important sections is a bit JV.
Thats not directed at you Mat, but realistically what would a "Negotiating 101" rejection net us and how long will it take? Since you took that class? ;)
Btw, When does one put some trust the NC?

Fortunately the RLA doesn't require us to voluntarily submit if we don't agree. Read the RLA... The Railway Labor Act Simplified

And no Bozo, I'm not talking to you, I'm talking through you.

I agree the company built a fortress around healthcare and profit sharing (and domestic codeshare), but where are you getting that they are willing to die on their sword over COLA?

We'll never know if we marry the first girl we talk to.

From the MEC. B6 did not want the 3% because at the end of the contract, we'd appear to be highest paid 320 industry wide. They couldn't allow the optics. fwiw.
As short-lived as that wouldve been, thats what I was told.
Do you ever talk to anyone who is involved in the process?
Not attacking, it just seems like you'd rather not be bothered.

Optics? First, we WOULDN'T be the highest paid, since DAL already makes more on the 321 than we will at the end of this.

Secondly, think about that for a second, they don't want the apperience of paying us?
