They want you to do everything. Clean the jet. Grab customers luggage from anywhere they leave it. Make a stand up comedy routine but not too sharp. Make it warm and inviting. Don’t worry they’ll watch it on Facebook or YouTube. They want you to update your defendants and travel companions, so they don’t have to take the time and man power. And if you don’t you will lose your travel privileges. They want you to extend your far 117 day to the max everyday. They want you to waive the contract so you can keep working. Do you think if there’s something that happens after you’ve waived these protections that they’ll be there to help you? You know the answer.

Don’t actually fly.
Or haven’t been here long enough to enjoy a hot summer.

Have you ever had the AO tell you that by not taking an extension past a 14 hour duty day “you’re going to ruin everything?”
Have you ever made a stand up PA because the AO is waffling and the customers are freaking out because jetcrew keeps updating them on departure times? Then, when the flight cancels the customers make underhanded comments to you and even get up into your face because now you’re the reason they’re experiencing JetBlue’s operational failure?
Have you ever sent an ACARS dispatch because you can’t get through to crew services to tell MOT that you’re going to time out because the taxi line is 1 hour, with absolutely zero response??????
Unlucky? Hardly. I’ve been abused beyond a reasonable doubt by an operation that lacks clarity and certainty integrity. I’ve been disrespected as an employee and more importantly as a professional pilot.

I was literally asked to wave the contract 14 hours Duty, 3 days ago. Now I wish I would’ve printed the ACARS just to show everyone how wrong you are AGAIN.
Of course they begged. “We will have to cancel. We don’t have anyone else.”
Funny they managed to find somebody when I said no. They changed me to a DH and we pushed 2 hours late even though they knew about my timing out several hours before and instead just counted on me extending.
Please people stop waiving the contract. It’s obvious they are getting guys to wave it because they were counting on me saying yes.
Third time I have been asked to wave the contract 14 hours in the last 6 months.

“Can you believe this!?!? I was putting on my swim trunks at the hotel and crew services called with double time pay to operate this to DC!!! And guess what??? They’re going to DH me to PBI tomorrow for a 24 hour sit and it’s all premium cash!!!”
Thanks Captain Douche!
There’s always someone to help the suck continue. Don’t be that guy.

Since we are on the subject.
Do the CA’s on this board listen to your FO’s when it comes to extending? I’m 99.9% no when it comes to extending (unless I’m the last flight out before a hurricane, etc). However, since I’m an FO it’s not my choice. It’s CA’s discretion and if I don’t like it I can Fatigue out.
I’ve noticed several captains not pay
attention to the suggestions of the FO’s (myself included) when making their choice. Maybe some CRM is in order? Maybe we can make this a crew decision vs a unilateral decision?
Am I off base? Thoughts?
