No to mention it would take years for SW to see the benefits of a merger. Not really a good bandaid for the max issue. More of a long term play to future proof against similar issues.

And eliminate competition. Let’s be honest, that’s what mergers are all about.

How about we just let the chips lie where they fall.

Which this merger stuff would stop. The only ones who truly make out are a handful of the people at the top (management) and the boards.
Wall Str to a point too..

enough already (hopefully)

Motch
Well, shouldn’t we try and hash out how the integration will go?

Just kidding. Die thread, Die!

No it’s not. SWAPA will staple all but 100 of you guys. Pick a different merger, sport.

Contract
Section 1.E
Merger and Successorship Protections

Everyone should read it...

Bottom line, unless we become wildly unprofitable and the board can no longer purchase back their stocks at a billion dollar rate every year or two... we should all be employed with a fair and equitable(cough) SLI, that falls within the ALPA merger policy or the confines of Allegheny-Mohawk and McCaskill-Bond. Which ensures that everyone on both sides will be equally irritated, p!ssed off, defrauded of QOL due to the other pilots on the other side of the fence.
At least for two years. Then the furloughs start.

Actually it is. We'd probably do better with SWAPA than an ALPA assuming a legacy got ahold of us.
AT agreed to their fate with SWA. JB pilots would not for a second.

Frankly I hope for neither. Ever.

Really? You think a pilot group that voted 74% for a turd contract, in the best negotiating environment in recent history, would suddenly collectively grow some stones and stand up to SWAPA?

FWIW, the year it started was (one of) AT's best years financially, and there was no talk of them going out of business.
