I’ve blocked 300 hours, don’t commute, rarely work.
One shirt already has the epaulet coming undone and is half way off.
One pair of pants has an inch long hole along the seam.
Took 6 months to get the overcoat.
Took 10 months for them to get me a blazer.
I like the way uniform looks. That’s about it. Would love a different overcoat, or something like SWA and ALK have.

Yeah, I’m in favor of a change.

Blue or white, I personally don’t care. It’s more the easy-wrinkle material and poor fit that is the issue with Van Heusen shirts. Light blue with the blue blazer looks fine to me.

Sorry to hear of your uniform woes. That's not fun. As a counterpoint, I have blocked over 800 hours, and have not had a single uniform failure yet. Not sure if they changed anything between our hire dates?

Also took me months to get the suit coat, but it was summer, so I didn't care. I don't mind the uniform colors nor quality of material. The size of the shirts REALLY needs some adjusting. I'm not a small guy, but the shirts swallow me.

My new hire pants and jacket are in great shape and the company tailored them.

It is still in better shape than the latest iteration of the disposable uniform.

When are going to get the rain jacket? Wasn’t it talked about two winters ago. It’s “difficult” I think was the excuse but in the meantime BYORC is approved.

Uniforms have sucked since RTP.

Simply put,
1. It doesn't function/perform as it should.
2. It doesn't look like a uniform a professional airline pilot would wear.

unless you are highflight. Then it works and looks amazing after spending his whole allowance to tailor it and remake it.

Why don’t we as a pilot group voice our opinion about how hideous our uniforms to the chiefs and/or management instead of having a b***hfest on APC.

Nice try. Except I never said ANY of that. But keep attacking the person, not the message.

Do not engage with management. That furthers a direct relationship and undermines our union and our unity as a pilot group. Directly engaging management is exactly what management and their labor busting firm (F&H) wants you to do because it works against us. This is also why we don’t participate in company surveys like the speak up survey, as well as leadership get togethers and BBQs where we get to interact with johanna et al. Make your voice heard with your union’s uniform committee. That is your representative for uniform issues.

Side note: the chief pilots have advocated for improved uniforms (for example the Karbon Aviator Jacket) to no avail...the intern that works for our branding has more power over our uniforms than the system chief pilot.
