Several memos from senior management point the finger at one thing. “Last year we made X million a day, and today we’re refunding x million for cancelled tickets”. It’s a signed confession if they try to wiggle out of the CBA.

beyond the control of the Company” shall not include the price of fuel
or other supplies, the price of aircraft, the state of the economy, the finan-

Reductions blamed directly on the economy and profits, not natural disasters. From the Chip/Giggity letter on March 18:
“...Even though we entered this from a position of strength with a strong balance sheet and cash in the bank, because of the dramatic fall-off in bookings, we need to reduce our spending immediately so that we can continue to fund JetBlue’s operations and ensure your jobs are protected. We have already announced an initial capacity reduction, pay cuts for our officers (VPs and above), voluntary time off programs, re-negotiated Business Partners agreements, and other spending reductions.“

Were going to park planes. Depending on how many obviously and when demand is expected to return will determine a lot and that’s a moving target.
jmo but I hope after voluntary LOAs, early outs (the few we’ve got eligible), and reduced credit lines we keep it under 500.
I know alpa is also working on many efficiencies that the company refused to allow previously. Things that will save jblu millions.
this also has the potential to save more jobs.

Offer more 50hr lines or something similar. I'm happy to take reduced hours to keep guys off the streets. I also feel like furloughs are inevitable but I want to keep people on property as long as humanly possible. If that means my credit hours drop, so be it.

I commend you for taking the 50 hour line to help mitigate the amount of furloughs we would
need to do....I don’t think everyone has the same mindset. Maybe I’m wrong, but most took the 50 hour line to just get a break from working or avoid Covid-19 exposure.

In other words, the earliest the company starts saving money with a furlough is April 20, 2021.
With 50-hour incentive lines, they save money every month, starting April 20 THIS year. Plus they retain the flexibility to change the headcount for each base on a monthly basis.

We still have several hundred pilots sitting scr everyday like we are still running full tilt at 1000 flights a day. Better start bringing the bang stick up to Kew Gardens to fight off the zombies and Venezuela style food shortages. It would take a flick of a pen to put most of them on lcr with the schedule draw down, but let’s keep moving pilots in and out of major population centers and then sending them back to spread the love. We are contributing to the very thing that is destroying our industry. Culture
