Doesn’t work like that unfortunately. They mint seats get filled by pax then nonrevs that list for mint, then buddy passes listed for mint.

Unfortunately that’s a firing offense for our FAs. Jumpseaters absolutely prohibited from Mint. We are trying to get that changed but branding is the whip hand holder over flight ops here.

Nothing new there. Branding and pretty much every other feel good department has always held the ship at JB.

And everyone are “equals” and in their eyes have equal authority. FA IOE instructor working in the back once told me that I have to divert when I told them of a problem with the plane that was a non-issue. Thinking back I should have just shut my mouth and not bothered tell them. We were over the Atlantic with nothing but barely inhabited Bahamian islands going by on the way to SJU. You can imagine how that went.

I’ve got one better. In the middle of a divert because of a suspected stroke I had a FA call and tell me that I didn’t have to anymore and I should continue to destination.

I'm noticing the same trend at NK. FA's are getting way too... I can't think of a good word for it but thinking they have way more power than they do.
