And... Then they wouldn't let FAs out of Mint. Take away the generous rig, then lock them into the category....

Can't imagine why no one wants to sign up now...

How does the company take away a rig?

- not jetblue so I genuinely don’t know

I don’t see why it matters. The mosaics would just love to have the seat. You don’t need to be “mint trained” to safely evacuate that cabin; just don’t offer the service.

Dude, this was a flight to Cleveland.

Not sure, but they did. That's a fact.

Not sure how you keep accomplishing this, but you keep demonstrating with perfect clarity that you have no idea what you're talking about.

Maybe talk less, it will be less obvious that way.

Because the FAs did not sign their first contract until December of 2021. The company took away the mint specific rig before that. The rig was not earth shattering, just said that a mint FA would get a minimum 8 hours pay per duty period, so the usual 5 hour flights to Cali for example would pay 8. That's gone.

You'd have to be a fool to sign up to be a mint FA now. Locked into the cadre with no way out, doing the same labor intensive routes over and over, all for next to no extra pay.

And the transatlantic cadre is worse. Stuck doing 18 hour three days , all of which involve red eyes and doing a crazy coach service that takes hours. All on a narrowbody.

Who cares. People bid for stuff that doesn't make sense to me all the time. You want to be on CA reserve for years as a 3000+ seniority # pilot. WHAT A FOOL!!! Whatever, their choice. Do what you want.

The problem is no one is signing up for it, they are understaffed and can't even meet the contractual mint reserve relief they signed off on for "mid 2022" and thus are in violation. They are targeting new hires now for it who won't understand what they are getting into, so you bet the soft product will decline. You get what you pay for and the health of the airline will affect us all in the end.
