Which is odd, because now you have guys in training that haven’t been assigned an aircraft type yet. I guess you have to stretch out basic indoc for a few extra days.

I know a couple guys during one of the supplemental bids last year that were emailed prior to the results being posted that they were awarded A220 and were going to training next month. You’ll even see some of the new awards in Mint if you know where to look.

I’m assuming there’s some sarcasm in there. We all know the company knows the results already. They just take the contractual 3 weeks to notify pilots. Obviously, they need checked over but they basically have the final results. At least close enough for a new hire class.

I’d speculate there will be very accurate guessing of the plugs in each category in the not too distant future.

My guess is we go back to seeing all the CA seats going very junior again. With the pairings as rough as they are I don’t see senior FOs wanting to take the QOL hit. If you’re a less senior FO and regularly do these trips, might as well be doing them from the left seat. Just realize like jinx said, it’ll be “ for-ever”

So, when do the "educated guesses" start rolling in?

I think bos SQ FO will go junior.

You really went out on a limb there.

My guesses are:

190 CA: stays around minimum hours to upgrade, < 24 months

220 CA: folks will bid for percentages such as top 10/top 50%, the rest will fall around 6-7 years seniority

320 CA: post-cancelled award rights, and given anemic growth and essentially zero retirements, this bid will make that seat even more unobtainable…I’m guessing 8-10 years to get a JFK 320 slot.

Writing is on the wall, we’re gonna hit 10 year upgrade times on the bus very soon if not on this bid. Is what it is.

I’d bet you’re not far off on 320CA. And being that jr SUCKS. A dude in my crash pad is a 9 year CA on the bus and is still commuting to SCR as he can’t hold weekends off on LCR. He’s been here almost 10 years at our biggest base! No freaking thanks! I regret not leaving years ago…
