I just can’t imagine the board letting Joanna run an airline nearly twice this size. It just can’t be. Being an attorney, I guess she’s suited to facilitate a merger/acquisition though.

She has certainly prepared JetBlue for an acquisition.

They’re talking about it now, at least, but talk is cheap, and a botched merger with Spirit could get *real* ugly.

I want B6 to be a destination, but with the way things are right now and the legacies hiring in droves, can one really make a good argument for staying? But yes, misery is relative, so don’t take my misery as actual fact. It’s just BS airline pilot misery.
I think we are all in the same boat. Great job recognizing that "It's just BS airline pilot misery" my buddies at Delta are complaining about the same issues. Hopefully this talk pans out to some action but the last 12 years dosnt give me much faith. Pilots have been on here saying the same things they are now "why come here when there is no growth and no attrition." Well we've done nothing but grow (minus 2020) since I've been here and we are finally starting to see more then single digit retirements. I still enjoy going to work, mostly because of the crews I fly with but also the constant Eps/Primium pay/ VDA they keep throwing out there.

They literally just announced slower growth.

They announce pushing back orders and slowing growth every year. Nothing new with that announcement. Anyone on the line can see that we have over extended ourselves and have been behind the hiring curve for all work groups since last spring. Slowing down a little bit isn't a bad thing, summer still going to be crazy.

It is a bad thing, when you really consider the reasons. They slowed the growth for the rest of the year largely because of staffing, and largely because of pilot hiring/attrition. In addition, Robin clearly said on the conference call with Wall Street that this problem could continue for the foreseeable future/years.

Their big solution to pilot attraction/attrition/staffing is to try to hire more and "double down on culture", you know, because most pilots that leave JB are leaving because their isn't enough "culture". Facepalm.

Put it all together and you have less growth, slower seniority progression, will last for years, and their solution will make it worse, not better...

There's a word for that... Bad

As I said same slowing of growth as they say every year "sometimes with different wording" it's apparent we need a reset and it looks like we are getting one. This should allow for other work groups to catch up with hiring. I agree with you on the idiocracy of "doubling down on culture". That ship sailed years ago.

This…the are positioning themselves better and will resume. It needs a spark as well though, the brand is a bit tired looking after what we’ve all been through. Something big would be good.

Did you listen to the last JB conference call with Wall Street?
