Before the key board warriors criticize this post...B6 does need to get industry standard profit sharing, better health care, and we have our own operational level problems to resolve...but the pay rates under the new extension are as good and/or better than any other airline. If you can live in base for B6, you can do very well for yourself, either maximizing time at home with your family or maximizing your pay by picking up open time. During the peak months, throw in an IROP and lot's of extra flying opportunity at premium pay. Work as much or as little as you want to maximize family or pay, you choose.
Bottom line for the original poster - live in base, B6 is a very good choice to have, especially over a commuting option. Good luck with your decision.
One more addition - Folks will argue, "but no wide body opportunity at B6". My guess at the very least is that B6 will have some type of LR/XLR pay (override) after the JCBA or Europe overwater override, when it becomes industry standard in all the other airline contracts for LR/XLR to pay similar to 75/76 rates.

Have to agree: B6 is now a 20+ year airline that after the Spirit acquisition will have 9000+ pilots and flying that includes over 30% international locations to include Central and South America, Caribbean, Europe (LR/XLR). The airline has a very good product, pretty loyal customer base and the pilot group for the most part is very enjoyable to fly with. Add to that snap-up and a JCBA in the next couple years that improves an already pretty good set of work rules, it will likely only get better at B6.

"^^^^^^^This^^^^^^^^
AS+B6+NK = Max/LR/XLR, west, east, south, WBs next."

Depends how you define “affordable” but assuming Manhattan/Queens/BK are not in your definition:
NJ: Hoboken, Jersey City, Atlantic Highlands, Red Bank, Lincroft, Holmdel, Sea Bright etc…
NY: City Island, Long Island

Go west of Nashua/Concord areas of NH. Bring a good snowblower though 😂

Millions of people own/rent around the Greater Boston area or in the MA suburbs that earn less than a first year FO. It’s not impossible.

I just wanted to follow up and thank everyone for the time they took to help advise this decision. Also, if you sent me a PM, thank you as well. I got a ton of great feedback and perspective on potentially coming to B6.
Fortunately, this will not be an overnight process, so making a snap decision can't really be done right now. I'm going to continue to take it one day at a time and leave all options on the table at this point.
If someone wouldn't mind answering this: how do retirements/numbers look at B6? This isn't really critical based on the angle I'm approaching this from, but it'd be good to know up front. Even rough numbers are fine...where on the scale between AA and SWA does B6 land, for example.
Is there somewhere I can read the specifics of the new TA, or is that close-hold? I found the payrates on one of the other threads, but not a whole lot else. I'm assuming I don't have access to that information, but yeah...assumptions...
Thanks again everyone.
