I think they call that foreshadowing and that how I read it too….I think the audience is mostly people working on the ground however……….certainly I do not see it spawning much growth for pilots either……………Having said that Bootyjedge has basically forced airlines to cut in Metro NY (at least the Port Authority ones) so this may be Robins way to not let a good crisis go to waste.

Naw they are talking more about GO/AO/TO in LGA, that’s where we surged resources due to the NEA. The theme for the last year from mgt is that our commitments to the NE alliance combined with delivery delays are hamstringing a lot of what we’ve wanted to do separately from AA due to not enough planes! So unless you really expect a pilot displacement out of JFK/LGA, but Hell is more likely to freeze over first!

I know JB already publicly stated they would divest Spirit’s LGA slots to F9, but wasn’t that predicated on keeping the NEA? Can they renege on that or use it as a bargaining chip??

I thought that was predicated on the acquisition going through

That is correct…. It pays to read beyond the headline which most people don’t, you did.

Yeah. Pretty. Difficult to give them up until they actually DO own them…

No reading comprehension problem here, maybe understanding your NEA with the Sky Nazis. Was it just revenue sharing or actual slot swaps in LGA and JFK??

Displacement in NY and BOS where majority of our attrition is already coming from? Nope. They are talking about gate agents, rampers, and tech ops. That's also who they mentioned in the pocket session just now. After they see how the winding down shakes out, they will see how many of those personnel they will need to move from LGA to JFK and whatever they did in Boston. They will also let attrition play out in those roles too.

Nothing for pilots and FA. They mentioned little to no impact on that side. IMO, they will also need that staffing to relaunch those equipments elsewhere from NY and BOS area. They can't just parked them.

Someone asked: “Will we be slowing pilot hiring? Thank you.“

The response: “Yes, we are drawing down some of our hiring targets through the end of 2023. They won't go to zero, but much lower than originally planned. Staffing levels at the bases are solid.”
