Doesn't mean displacements for whose on property like the poster I quoted mentioned. I did see that comment though. I believe they did adjust the numbers significantly months ago due to delays of delivery, so not necessarily due to eliminating the NEA. I remembered it being mentioned in one of the pilot pocket session.

FWIW, Back in Feb, the VP of flight ops said they expected hiring to slow and possibly even stop over the summer.

They do that every summer. This latest one says a drawdown of hiring thru the end of the year, not just thru the summer. They’ve hired about 330 this year which has outpaced attrition by about 100ish. They started off saying 1,000+ this year. Then 700. Now “much lower than originally planned.” It’s not just a summer slowdown. This is a “let’s hope our list is the same size in January as it is today.” My guess is we end up hiring about 400-500 this year total and losing about 369 for the year.

This place is a revolving door unless you desire BOS, live in FLL, or want to waste your entire career as an FO in MCO since you’ll never upgrade. Other than that and you are going to commute, it’s pointless to be here.

I doesn’t help that we are basically the interview for the legacies….the legacies are literally hiring guys that show them their wet Airbus type ratings we give them. They prove they can pass a training program with us then get hired.

Not a good feeling. And let’s be honest, there is no plan B if this acquisition gets shot down. All I can say is JB better have negotiated some rock bottom discount for future Airbus WB’s to make up for this debacle.

Which brings up another point. We have a lot of gaps to fill in the JCBA. Do we honestly believe this toothless NC has it in them? We have some good committees and some good LEC reps, but for the most part our union is a joke. I hope Spirit at least brings some dogs ready to fight because this company is not going to just lay down and give in. And our union has zero fight in them…coupled with an apathetic pilot group. Wait till these Spirit guys have to deal with the micromanaging overlord CK. I’ve never heard one person in 5 years say anything good about this guy.
