Default JFK 190 Closing, JFK 220 Opening

We got the email, these changes will take place early next year. Discuss.

I still question the planes coming on time even for this year, never mind the next. There’s a lot of guys awaiting now delayed training going to be flying it in Boston, way more than we have planes to fly. They are still tearing up engines, there is airlines that have stopped operation on the other side of the Atlantic operating 220s exclusively (their biggest mistake) because they are out of engines to hang on them and PW aren’t putting out enough.

There is the possibility that the new jfk 220 will not be a 1-1 with the 190. If there are some 320 slots opening as well they can actually help alleviate the 220 overage by not backfilling slots from guys bidding off the bos220. Temporary shrinks bos220 while opening jfk and helps the overage until it’s time for the deliveries to start showing up again.

Guess we will have a start of the picture on June 9th. The big answers come on august 1st.

I wonder will they start adding more JFK 220 flying to accommodate the pilot base? I rarely see it at JFK.

Something has to replace the 190 on all the stuff it does out of jfk right now.

So who do we think is going to feel the worst of the displacement pain? I imagine there will be a decent number of junior 190 captains that won't be able to hold captain anymore. Do we think people will get displaced from JFK?

If we handled MCO 190 closure without too much disruption then I think JFK 190 should go the same. I bet they stuff more 320 vacancies in JFK as well to help.

I was curious of the same. I know jfk 190 shrunk tremendously so I'm thinking it won't be too much of a shakeup. Curious to see the "limited" vacancies throughout the other bases especially in FLL and MCO if they add any there.

I take that back, you’ve been more than disrupted. I can’t think of the word, but something that rhymes with “ducked.”

It should have been smoother than how it worked in reality, if they would have stuck to their word. But just like every other instance that never holds up.
