I’ve heard of that in the past with airline CEOs flying on competitors just to get an idea of what they’re doing right and wrong.

I remember seeing Robin in DCA boarding an American flight (to either LGA or BOS). Wearing his JetBlue badge and everything. I thought that was curious.

A few months later, the NEA dropped.

Then I guess it's obvious he never rode Spirit to MCO. Or he'd have just broke out the checkbook right then and there.

A few years back, a since retired captain who was a day turn only guy put a string of ATL turns the trade board which I picked up. At the time it was pretty much the same pilots and flight attendants working them mon-thurs, all senior and all good friends. During boarding the flight attendants were laughing and joking with four suit wearing business men in the big front seats, obviously passengers they knew, but we don’t get a ton of those type of pax. Turns out they were some high profile lawyers with a home office in ATL they fly up once a week to visit, always on Spirit. Near the end of boarding the other four big front seats were taken by another four execs with Delta IDs. Mid flight I did a lav break and heard the lawyers talking across the aisle about how much they loved Spirit and it was the best kept secret in the airlines. Later on the ground on the turn the lead FA told me among the Delta execs were the CEO and the head of inflight, but I never got a good enough look to confirm but she was adamant. Also said the inflight head kept asking the lawyers what it would take to get them to fly Delta instead. Who knows, but it doesn’t seem far fetched to do some recon.

David is back in the court summarizing again today. Hayes is testifying and seems to be doing a good job of dismantling DOJs arguments about harm to the consumer.
