Joined 4 years before the merger. If it took him that long to influence a deal, which was a reactive move to F9, then he wasn't very effective.

Not everything is a conspiracy.

Court documents and testimony from the DOJ lawsuit showed internal JB emails as far back as 2016-2018 timeframe discussing a merger with NK, F9, or another unnamed carrier.

Baldanza joined the board in 2018.

I’m not saying we’re definitely merging with F9, but I don’t think it is a crazy idea to imagine.

I guess my point is he was on the Board for 4 years before F9 made a bid for NK, which forced the response on our end. You'd have to believe he joined the Board to wait four years to orchestrate Frontier to make a bid for Spirit for JetBlue to then make a counter offer. Doesn't exactly scream "Ben joined the Board to drive us buying Spirit."

Unfortunately that doesn't matter because we don't really fly west of the Mississippi. JetBlue, the "East Coast Leisure Airline"

It is a good product but nobody knows about it because they likely reside west of I 95 and east of Anaheim.

Not to be a troll, but you got me wondering...does actually MOST of the US population live East of 95 and West of Anaheim? I honestly have no idea, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do! Again, I'm NOT disagreeing with you...just thinking huh...maybe that's right? Which would be crazy and makes me want to move to some center state.

You may call that Strange and the label doesn't offend me.......but it's what everyone is doing they may not just admit to it.
The problem is when you check the scoreboard here you are also only giving us the outs and nothing else. That way you support your own decision and as a bonus bring us down. Look it’s done you left congratulations. Best to move on. Honestly it was probably a very good move no need to second guess. As a former JetBlue pilot I absolutely hope it all works out for you.

I’ll be positive I think JG is doing a good job. Now the funny thing is to do a good job all they had to do was get back to basics. However they always pretended that was not the answer. Those days seem to be gone now and JetBlue leadership is finally being honest with themselves that they drive us right into a ditch. With that said it’s going to take time. But I definitely think these first steps have been very good. Unfortunately about 5 or more years late.

The center states have fledgling economies outside of the major cities. Ever been to Manhattan KS? Bartlesville OK? I have. They have nothing for young people. If you have kids, they will hate it there. If they don't hate it, they will want to stay and they wont have any futures, because there's virtually no economy or industry of value in these places.

The theory is everyone will congregate in major cities. That's where all the social and economic opportunity currently lies. Drive through any craphole in the Plains or desert and it's painfully obvious why no one under the age of 40 wants to live there.

This is honestly the only reason I've stayed here. We have a winning formula here if people outside of NY and BOS knew anything about us. Hell, everyone west of the Mississippi thinks we are like Spirit now.
Just like 40% of the flying public thinks Southwest is the cheapest when most of the time they are more expensive. Getting consumers to believe things that are not true is the raison de etre of marketing and it works!

But that's why 'low cost carrier' is a terrible classification. It lumps everyone who isn't a Big 3 in the same bucket. We need a better taxonomy for airlines.
