I think you could argue what management has done to jetblue is already corporate malfeasance.

I'm constantly amazed that the board hasn't cleaned house.

20 daily slot pairs. Not 20 gates. Its in the deal is terminated for any reason other than by United, which includes another airline buying Jetblue. This is probably why he's been saying we aren't buying Jetblue, because the only reason would have been to get some JFK slots and now they are happening with or without the partnership.

Can you post that information?

Everyone who knows the details of BS is under NDA. I highly doubt Kirby would start spilling details to an upgrade class. I think it’s more likely Friendly Pilot is repeating rumors that make him feel better because he is scared to lose seniority in an integration.

Yea for sure. Especially if they botched this BlueSky agreement.

First of all I would not "lose seniority" in a merger. I only have about 5 years left and being a WB Capt with well over 30 years seniority (over half of my life) I would in almost no conceivable way have a JB pilot placed ahead of me in an SLI. Even if I did, the WB fence would far exceed my remaining time here as a pilot. I'd honestly be shocked to see any JB pilot in the top 4,000 pilots, which would still put the most senior one around 3,000 pilots junior to me.

If I was a 2021 hire or later, I would definitely not be happy with United buying any other airline. There is almost no scenario where this is good for a United pilot that has more than 15 years left or isn't in the top third of the seniority list already.

As for the "NDA" these remarks are not always "Kirby" because at these meetings and classes they get asked questions because certainly junior pilots are the ones asking the questions that trigger the responses. But to hear the same responses from different people at different times makes one believe that they are likely true and certainly not out of the question that this would be something United would want as part of an agreement. Keep in mind that these responses are usually not volunteered just randomly, but usually as responses from pilots that ask questions like "Would we ever buy Jetblue just for JFK slots" etc, since its those new hires and new Captains that are the ones that would be most negatively affected by an SLI.

I heard this directly with my own ears from Kirby during a Q&A, but how true it is or the details of the agreement I cannot say for sure. Also not sure on the amount of slots, it was just said “in the event of a merger or bankruptcy United would keep the slots from the agreement”.

No ill will towards my friends at B6, this is just for information.
