Not wanting PIC time is said somewhat tongue-in-cheek because then it would make you less attractive to other carriers, which is one of the very few ways Jetblue retains people these days.
Don't buy into the over the top negativity on the internet. Upgrade where you're at and keep putting in apps everywhere you want to work.

Don't pass up the opportunity to upgrade for JB or any other company. You may interview and not get the job... or never even get an interview... and then be stuck as an FO.

Most of the people I know who have been hired in the last few months have been around 4000TT. Go upgrade, it won't hurt you. I know quite a few people (myself included) who upgraded at a regional and then got hired at JB soon after.

What this guy said.
You never know exactly what they want. But they always seem to like a mix. Attrition has not been as bad as some make it seem and most of the guys get hired with pic. Heck if you listen to the internet you will get an interview because everyone else wants to go to the real airlines.
Upgrade get your PIC and enjoy the learning experience that comes with it.
Apply to JetBlue if that's where you want to be and network network network.
Good luck.

I agree. I had the same choice and chose to defer my interview and upgrade at my regional. After my checkride I interviewed a month later and was turned down.
You bet I was happy to be in the left seat back at work rather than the right. Fast forward 12 months later and I was called back, re-interviewed, and currently in class at JB.
Take the upgrade.

I know who you're talking about. And apparently I'm not even worthy of an interview, sheesh

They had about 80 people at the open house, apparently the average total flight time of people attending was around 9k.
