That's assuming the company feels compelled to abide by the arbitrators ruling. They can easily just ignore it and tell us to sue them if we want. That buys them another year or 2 until we can take them to federal court.

Meanwhile the NEA keeps chugging along and they can then throw us another bone 18 months from now to try and get a 50.1% pass vote. Problem solved on their end and now we get a 2.5% raise, an "enhanced" FLICA waiting room and something like increasing PTO accrual another :15 per month for our troubles....

You could be right. But what makes you so sure it takes 1-2 years for a court to compel compliance with an in-hand Cease and Desist?

And if the union has an in-hand Cease and Desist order, would that not possibly create the leverage required to do better than "just a little more"?

And the original 2% raise is/was still more than 12 mo's away, so a few extra months to get more is not exactly much of a burden.

And... I'm curious how the pilot group will react to the company knowingly violating an in-hand Cease and Desist order from the arbitrator? Would it look like the months leading up to the CBA? How will that set up the interactions for the upcoming CBA2 negotiations? Not sure it starts off well for mother blue...

You're assuming a show of gumption and awareness from this pilot group that is seldom in evidence.

Yeah, no doubt. That's why I cited the one time it occurred...

Mod note-
move all this to the L&G JetBlue thread. There are folks in the pool and hopefuls who now need to wade through this to get the info they came for.

Agree.

To further the thread, the last chief pilot says new hires in May. I know some people in the training limbo 39; they’re heading back in May as well.

It’ll be interesting to see if JB moves up the delivery schedule given the fact that we need airframes and people to continue some of our expansion plans, particularly new routes and blue cities, as well as EWR expansion and fighting off DAL in BOS and NYC.

I heard... 300ish for this year. Although, it always seems to end up being half of what they say.

Recruiting contacted me yesterday to tell me that they're projecting a June or July class date for me. I was towards the front of the pool when everything shut down last year, if that helps anyone gauge roughly when they might be going.

Any educated guesses on which aircraft and bases might be offered to new hires? A JFK and BOS-heavy mix of all types, or have all the recent bids shown a big need in one type or base?

We have a system bid coming out in May, that will paint a better picture. Until then, it’s just conjecture.
