So if past practices hold it will be about 250.

They always over promise on the new hires. The only year I ever remember them meeting the hiring goal was the year AA and Delta both called back and we had like 150-200 people leave.

Any educated guesses on which aircraft and bases might be offered to new hires? A JFK and BOS-heavy mix of all types, or have all the recent bids shown a big need in one type or base?
That certainly helps with some rough estimates. Think I'm somewhere in the middle of the pool.

since we basically had to redo the Phase II check, did you get a new background check complete message from HireRight before they called you?

No, my background check is still underway. I wouldn't be surprised if they're more willing to start our training before the background check is complete this time (I think it technically only needs to be done before we touch an actual airplane) since we already passed a background check last year. I haven't even done my drug screen yet, they sent the forms yesterday at the same time they sent the "we're aiming for June or July" email.

That's some good news! I'm still floating in background check verification complete limbo as well. Did you and Shepard have to submit PRIA paperwork again too? That was the last e-mail I got from recruiting, submitted that ASAP and haven't heard anything since.

Yes, after the recent HireRight email for background check I also received an email from recruiting with new PRIA forms to complete, sign and return. That was the last communication I had from them.

Same here. Sent in the PRIA forms last Thursday and haven’t heard anything since. Surprised they aren’t just checking all this via PRD since they already verified the rest of our backgrounds last year. Hireright is the worst part of this process.

I know one of the emails mentioned that we wouldn’t be doing the drug test until they knew what class we would be in. But subsequent emails made it sound like they would be doing more significant hiring than exists in our current pool. Hopefully we get picked up sooner than later.

There are currently 53 190 vacancies that need to be filled, according to a recent leadership lunch, probably between BOS and JFK.

I've heard rumor that the upcoming supplemental bid has a lot of open CA spots, so I wouldn't be surprised if that number was true. Hopefully even larger.

Those 53 190 vacancies came straight from the mouth of CL, FWIW

Nice! That’s definitely going to take a while. They’ve been slowly bringing back people to requal; May schedule is pretty much done and many people still not scheduled. Part of the 39 new hires from last year are scheduled and new instructors coming on board as well. I’ll happily take another month off
