Would be curious to know how many apps they get during the window.. And how many actually are competitive.

They are projecting 100 pilots leaving due to attrition for 2014. That has combined with Part 117 changes and growth for our total hiring this year.

Apparently 2600+ apps received so far. This was mentioned at the OBAP convention by someone.

Interesting. Thanks

That's not tooooo bad knowing a lot of them probably aren't even competitive. Probably quite a few apps without recency and I know a lot of the FO's at my company applied without even meeting the Minimums. I'm sure this is pretty common.

I'd be interested to know how many of those are actually competitive. There's been at least two 1,600-ish hour RJ FOs in my crash pad apply.

And, how many have three reference letters attached? How many of those applicant will recruiting assume are just trying to go to JetBlue to be more competitive for a Legacy?

9500 TT, 6000 TPIC, 4 internal LOR's and I wouldn't be surprised to hear nothing. Meanwhile all my Fo's with no PIC are getting called.

Well, in the Brave New World of LCC hiring, my guess is that someone in the recruiting department thinks you're going to bail to the first Legacy that calls.

Nothing you don't already know I'm sure.

Don't live in a airline hub, no desire to. Would I go if a legacy called now? yes Would I go if already at a LCC? Guess that depends on timing....I'd stay if it's a few years from now and on the back side of the hiring wave. I've no desire to be in my 50's in a crashpad on reserve.

I want to make decent money and get the days off I want when it's time to go to the kid's dance recitals and baseball games. I'd be content spending the next 30 yrs at Blue. Just wish they'd give me a chance.

Please don't take this the wrong way but your post above is exactly why JetBlue appears to be hiring less qualified pilots. Senior management won't provide an industry standard benefits package, hiring is pressured to ensure minimum turnover, well qualified pilots are not interviewed. It sucks for everyone.
