There was a previous poster who theorized about staying at his regional versus coming to JB. Even with our warts aplenty, if you can survive first year pay there's a lot more stability and less bs to deal with once you hit the line. Plus, if you're still an FO our first year pay, crappy as it is, should still be a raise. Finally, coming to JetBlue seems to be a great way to get your resume looked at at UA, DL, or AA if one of those is your ultimate goal

We are paid on the 8th and the 20th, A funny discrepancy. Please write an objective opinion on here of the lodge a few weeks in. By that time the cool aide should be diluted to an appropriate level. Welcome, we are all happy when we get good guys.

That's what I'm seeing also. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't crazy.

I just like to think for myself.

I never said I was okay with it. That's your take away from it, not what I'm implying. Please, quote me where I said "I'm okay/fine/happy with this."

See. Question the company and you've got tons of people on the internet to pat you on the back and sagely nod. Question the union on anything, and you're a pariah or a company plant.

And again, this has nothing to do with regional vs major. We're not talking pay/benefits/QoL here, at least that's not my point. I'm talking about the potential for union side tracking, stirring the pot or half truths. That's a possibility at a major just as much as a regional. Or are you people implying that everyone in a position at the union will always have everyone's best interest at heart 100% of the time?

Based on what an actual new hire has posted in the thread, it does seem the company is cutting new hire pay. That's unacceptable and I wish someone could do something about it. Although, I AM confused on how the union can say "We can't help on the pay because we can't represent new hires" but two paragraphs later they state that any new hire will have representation at a Training Review Board. And before anyone asks, yes, I have contacted my rep for clarification on the issue.....
Dude,
You really just need to find another line of work. You said it yourself, you did not want to vote for alpa. They lie!
Your opinion of the company? THEY LIE(not as much)
You feel sorry for yourself because everyone is jumping on you? Gee I wonder why? Maybe because we have been grossly mistreated by management starting about 8 years ago increasing in beatings each year. You are the pilot we have been fighting against since the JPBA tried to get going. You have no idea whats going on behind the scenes with the new MEC and obviously you don't care otherwise you would have asked your rep about the email. I highly doubt you did because your selfishness reeks and someone like you doesn't give a **** about the new-hires.

Now it's my turn to ask you......
If you hate it so much and you don't want a union why don't you just pack your **** up and leave? I hear Skywest (non-union) is looking for a guy just like you.

Default Hiring window

Not to break up the love fest, but the application window opens today. Should be open for 2 weeks.

Isn't it usually only open for 24-48 hours? Sign of good things to come with lots of hiring with a window open that long?

Good luck everyone! Like I have said before, JB is a great company. We have many issues that need to be ironed out but the negotiations with management will start soon. Those of you preparing to interview now will have several months of section 6 talks to review and help you decide on accepting the position here if you are offered it. Just focus on the interview and good luck!

Anyone able to get a search result?

"I would certainly hope the "value" they're talking about (which in this case seems like "cost" would be a better word, but I guess the company thinks "value" sounds better) would decrease, otherwise there's REALLY no point in building the lodge."

How else should we interpret this other than being okay with new hire compensation funding the lodge?
