Trying to plan a bit for the transition, not sure if I need to keep current health insurance (like COBRA for a couple months). Can current JB folks answer a couple questions?

How long before you get Medical, Dental, and Vision?

Do you get travel bennies on day one or after x number of days? Are parents/in-laws included in travel bennies?

Are you on the payroll from day one?

I understand they put you up at JB U., do you still get per diem? Is it the same rate as what's posted on APC?

Thanks!!

Super,
To the best of my knowledge,
-You're insured day one
-travel on day one, as long as it takes you to get the paperwork processed, 6mo for use of zed... I think
-yes
-no per diem in school, but now you get some kind of food use it or lose it allowance. I'm sure someone will chime in with numbers but I wanna say 2k before taxes.

Yep, 2K until LOE complete. The food allowance is around 26$ a day, and it does not roll over to the next day.

I was told the "work around" is to keep track of your spending. If you end the day with $6 left over, go to the "grab and go" and buy $6 in granola bars or Gatorade etc.

I agree, this is jetBlue, don't leave money on the table, you're already underpaid as it is!

Yep, it does say that. Then ... on Day 1 of class someone will mention that it's only $2000 plus the Lodge food allotment.

Seems to me that this kind of thing is what led to the need for a union at JB.

It says $28.57/hr while in training. I'm assuming 70 hr guarantee. That's about 2k. Plus $26/day in Lodge dollars.
