AN EX-military type in my class was called on a Wednesday and offered a class on Monday if he wanted it. He was told since it was such short notice he could of course bypass this offer, AND the next one. He Was there on Monday. My feeling is if you have some sort of obligation, they will work with you at that point. YMMV.

BTW, everyone in my class got a "you've completed phase II" email. Evidently the company stepped up its communications effort last fall, including sending a contact email for status questions. I didn't feel the need to contact them. I was in the pool 7 months from interview to class date. I think it's much faster than that right now.
Thank you for the information.

Junior Captains went to October 2012 for JFK A320 and March 2012 for JFK E190.

That's great. The previous way they were leaving people in doubt and I think we lost more than a few good people that got other offers.

I think we are still losing people due to the long process but they have chosen to do it this way. Not sure why. I have heard some speculate it is because they want people who want JetBlue over ANY other offer. Maybe that's it.

My good friend interviewed at US Air after my JetBlue interview. He was trained and out on the line before my phase II was completed.

...you need to bring back the old bow and arrow chick. It's harder to read without her.

I don't think they're doing it on purpose but do agree that may be a byproduct. I think they just try to stay a little ahead of what the training center/mgmt tells them without getting too far ahead. Training pipeline changes with the seasons too. They also try to avoid the 'hire til you fire' incidents where mgmt says we need 300 and then says, whoops we only meant 100 and all of a sudden you're fat. So I don't know if there really is a perfect way to do it, seems every way is a compromise. But at least they are comunicating better.
