I have a feeling they will be hiring more than 175-200 this year. I am guessing closer to 300.

Attrition for 4 year types and under. I know of three personally who have left recently. Just about every younger FO type is chomping at the bit for a legacy to call them. Im 43... I think I am staying put.

*Caution... this is just my opinion.

Could be talking about the delta 190's rumor as well.

Rumor only!

Goes something like this. Delta places a narrow body replacement order next month and never takes the air canada 190's. JB takes a few (6-10) of them to get aggressive on the west coast.

The biggest "news" I heard at ViB is that they're seriously looking at the acquisition of a widebody type airplane in the next few years. There is some trigger at an overall fleet size of 240 aircraft that makes JB ready to acquire a widebody for (assuming) trans-atlantic service.

In addition, they're interested in VX's A320s if the new Alaska decides to get rid of them. There is something about how VX's jets are configured compared to how B6's Airbii are configured that makes them more desirable; something about not being able to fly over the Andes currently, and that some VX jets are ETOPS.

I'm 30 and staying put...

But, I live in base and have zero desire to work for a Legacy. I can see why people will go, and let them (if they are senior to me...)!

Not difficult at all. You basically verify your times and ask about checkride failures. Unless you lie, you're good to go and set up an interview date.

I interviewed Tuesday and they said they are going to hire more this year. 208 was the number they said.

My buddy there said they're interviewing 99 next month. Congrats to those that make it in. Great company and I'm exited with the opportunity to join the JB ranks...
