It will probably be around the OBAP conference timeframe, so August sometime is probably a good guess.

Hey all, looking at 320 vs 190 discussion now. Is it possible to have a good amount of days off at 190 JFK within 1-2 years of hire?

Sure, just not as much around this time or any other busy season. We tend to run a thin staffing operation. During the busier times the line values are at the higher end so line holders will have higher credit and be working more and also allowing for a larger number of reserves available. Plus you have to remember you are covering the guys with summer vacation blocks which are cleaned out. I'm Boston and with the company about 2yrs but JFK will be similar. I bid commutable and not a whole lot else, this month I have 90 hours and 13 days off and thats pretty common over the summer. During the off peak the line values go down and plenty of months I have 15-16 days off.

If staffing is available remember you can PTO or UTO (unpaid) some of the shorter, inefficient day or two day trips and get some more days off. I usually UTO them, if its a 10 hr trip I'll UTO it and then cover what I lost with selling them back the PTO which is at time and a half. So covering the 10 hours of the pay I lost with the UTO will break even selling them back about 7 hours and you keep the 3 that they would have deducted if you PTO it.

Default What does a "C" column represent on pairing?

I am looking at my trips for Jul and I notice an asterisk next to some of my flight numbers (just to the right of the DH column asterisk is in the"C" column.
Does this mean check airman? (I'm clueless here) thanks
How about trips in open time that have asterisk as well next to the flight numbers?

the * under the C column just indicates an equipment change... it just means during the turn you will have a plane swap. The only way to tell if you're flying with a check airmen is next to the pilots name it will have a CKA

So, I haven't classed up yet, but wanted to know the best route to make more money. 320 or 190? Is there any way to make more money while on Reserve? Pick up extra trips? Or would 190 be best in order to get a line first? Thanks.

IMHO.....

-bid whatever will get you a line faster (JFK 190 wins the prize, for now.)

-live in base

-there are ways to make more money on RSV, but please don't attempt it, unless you are VERY familiar with the FSM.....
