No doubt JB isn't a bad place to hang your hat. And your right, it doesn't matter to me. Just bored, and perusing the forums. I have a couple of buddies trying to get hired anywhere so I was just digging around when I saw posts like this:
It certainly wasn't a dig at JB, just my opinion that it is a silly notion to think pilots should wait around in a pool to "gauge their desire to be at JB"

Yeah that's guppy puppy.
We have a group as does every airline that thinks like that.
Sorry I wasn't trying to bash you, I am sure my post came of as harsh.
But sometimes on these forums people act like why would you work at JetBlue.
It's just that we are slow sometimes to hire and talking to my buddy in pilot recruitment we do lose some very good guys while waiting. You are totally correct who could blame them.
And we don't have hats

At the time of my interview we were told that we were most likely interviewing for a Feb class, but that things could always change either way. I planned on taking off all of Jan, and part of Feb, but can't really afford to be unemployed into March. None of this is JB's concern or responsibility, but the ants don't know that.
I called Sterling a few weeks ago, they were waiting on the ANDA form from the FAA, but I was otherwise complete. I'll call again next week for an update.

The ants in my pants are born of the fact that, for various personal reasons, I've already quit my regional job. That decision would be sitting a lot more easily if I had a class date. Once I get the issues settled that required me to take time off, I'll be faced with the decision of going to another regional until I get a class, or working at Home Depot or Starbucks.

If he's already been hired why would they care? He could've flown enough this year to be current right without being employed.

It's possible, but there have been issues in the past.
I'm not saying he's effed himself. But just because you're in phase two doesn't mean you've been hired if you're sitting on something odd. Frankly, up and quitting your job before being given a class date isn't the norm. Just my opinion. We could stop hiring tomorrow. Then you're really hosed. Happened to me in 08'. Hiring right up until..... We're not.
I hope it turns out well. Beers on me in BOston.
